Well a week of trying to get a Dire Maul crew to finish it off finally paid off.

Was myself as a 61 Warlock, a 70 Lock that needed it, a guildie 70 lock to use the items, a 70 pally and a 64 warrior. Even stacked like that it was a challenging fight.

So worth it though, I now have level 70 warlocks whispering me going "I need to do that quest, where does it start?" (FYI, it starts at the lock trainer, idiots).

The Dreadsteed is so cool looking, hope Blizzard changes what instances are required though, as it is a huge pita to finish it off what with Scholomance and Dire Maul being involved.

You aren't a proper warlock if you don't have a Dreadsteed.

Grats, I agree with you about that. A lock doesn't look like a true Lock until they get the epic lock Mount.

Gratz. A lot of people have a had time getting that mount if they dont do it around the 60ish lvl. I know I didn't get mine until about a month ago because most 70's are like if I don't get rep I'm not going. I do think they should keep the instances though. A lot of new people skip all the lvl 50+ instances because they all want to just zomg outlands! I think Scholomance is a really fun instance and I am always happy to help people who need to go for their mount.

This was the first thing I obtained after my one year vacation. It was one of the main reasons I quit along with the fact that I was mainly grinding rep. Now I have plenty to do and am throughly enjoying not only my new mount, but my new talent tree choices.

Been trying to get one for, like, a year now.

I just got fed up and bought an epic from the vendor instead. Seriously, NO ONE is doing pre-TBC level 60 instances anymore. I went ahead and spent lots of gold on the reagents needed for the summoning, only to find out that people left Azeroth for good and took all their friends with them.

Blizzard should've added a level 60-70 area in Azeroth as well. To keep people in the neighborhood.

It's funny; on my server people are dying to do old-world content. We're crazy roleplayers, though, and we want to do it for the experience and the storylines and what have you >.> I went from starting the quests to getting my mount in 5 days, and I am constantly asked to help other 'locks cause I have the mats for the Dire Maul portion.

Sucks that you can't find people, though =(

I had some friends helping me, 1 a healer and 1 a tank along with a guild member that I rented his mats. Glad I did it and it is worth it. I would say leave the 60 quest in place but add a level 70 quest for it with outland instances to give people other options. Or maybe allow someone to buy the training and buy the mount as another option. Locks only ofcourse.

I finally got the mount last night. Waited until I was 69 and brought a 70 holy pally with me. It were some tough times but got it done. Here are some things we noticed that isn't mentioned on wowwiki;

1. When you release the imp from the jar, don't bother with the other imps attacking you. They cause almost no damage. Just fear 'em if they interrupt you from repairing a node. Concentrate on the Dread Guards instead.

2. When you get to Lord Hel'nurath & the Dreadsteed we found it best to make sure you kill the Dreadsteed first. It seems to cause more damage than the Lord. Also, if you kill the Dreadsteed you can finish the quest even if the Lord wipes ya.

Grats to all you Warlocks that spent the time and money to get the Dreadsteed.

Started the quest Sunday once I turned 60 and did little by little until last night got a group of friends together they were all 70; 2 pallys and 2 warlocks.

It was just me and a 70 warlock friend that duo'd up to Immol and killed him. My friend and his blueberry fought Immol while i took out the eyes.

The summoning fight was definietly a very active fight with all those imps coming forth. But once the dreadguards stated coming all the warlocks the 3 of us just enslaved them and putting 2 SoC and consencrate on the platform we were on.

So if you're needing this fight definitely bring along some warlock friends.
Good luck everyone.
