If you have a halfway decent mage, it shouldn't really be a problem. The cast time on your shoot, and their sheep, is the same. So if you shoot, and they start casting right after you do so, you'll shoot the mobs and get initial agro, and their sheep will connect right after the pull, leaving the sheep a long ways away from the other mobs. Finding a mage who's intelligent enough to be able to do something this simple, however, is easier said than done.

Hopefully this means that by the time I start doing Heroics it won't be as much of an issue as it is in normal 5-mans. On the other hand, more likely than not it means that in heroics I'll have to work that much harder to pick up other people's slack.

Speaking of heroics though, how much leeway is there as far as trash mobs hitting someone other than the tank? Will trash mobs pretty much 1 shot everyone but the tank? And is it possible for a tank to tank 3 targets at once in a heroic and still be able to survive?

It depends on your gearing. Before I got hacked, I'd gotten to the point where I was running heroics with little-to-no CC, but that was in SSC/TK tanking gear. At my current level of gearing, I can tank a few mobs, but I need a good healer to be able to do so. CC is very important if I'm going to tank a heroic. Not because I can't hold agro, but because if I put any more mobs on me, they'll put me in the dirt.

As for other classes taking hits, just don't let it happen. Heroics are not that difficult, but it IS important to do your job as a tank in there because the mobs hit MUCH harder than they do in regular instances. Squishy classes will go down quickly if they end up getting beat on. In most cases, if a mob goes after someone soft and you can't get an intervene off, they're as good as gone if the mob gets ahold of them.

Yeah, I do remember that Axhed...WAY back when. I remember our hunters doing it, but it didn't take too terribly long for Blizz to patch it. But 8 months ago and now are two entirely different things, and saying that can still be done NOW is a flat out lie.

I never said I killed it.

My quote:

Quote:
If you are lucky you won't need to run like hell. As a BM hunter I can use Bestial Wrath + Trinket(boosts 200 AP) + Hunters Mark. Use an Aimed Shot then an Arcane as soon as the Aimed Fires. Both shots will go straight to the Voids HP before it can cast mana-shield. If you have enough AP or you get good crits, you can kill them in those two shots.

Said I can use BW + trinket + Hunters mark and if you get lucky you can kill it.

My experience was that I didn't crit on my aimed shot and took it down to 2% so I naturally assumed that had I critted it, the thing would have dropped. I guess some cliche's become cliche because they are true, and you know what they say about assuming things. And it certainly made an *** of me.

But reading it back it is easy to read into it that it seemed as though I was saying I killed it, chalk one up to quick typing at work, bad wording, and not putting all the info into a post, but I try to avoid to much info, because my posts have a way of becoming long winded very easily as it is.

It happens. Happy to see you came back, read, and followed up. Everyone assumes things from time to time, and ends up being wrong. Just as long as people can admit to it when they're called out on their misinformation, myself included, it's all good.

Oh yea, since this topic is about Hunters, what the HELL is up with hunters who insist on putting their pet on something other than the skull? Nothing infuriates me more than stating over and over and over that the only target being DPSed should be the skull. Then what do you know, next pull I see the tiger off attacking the X or the square. Is this normal, and should I just deal with it?

Edit: typo

dps should follow the dps kill order, including pets etc.

Exceptions:
A mob peals off to the healer -> I'll put my pet on it and itimidate

My trap breaks early -> same as above.

I'm a 37 warrior and huntards always want to pull and get the mobs all spread around with one on their pet and 2 on them. It's asanine and I just go DPS when thats the case. If I'm not the leader and I'm giving up on that because of huntards and rogues just plain out not listening I just DPS if some bonehead mage or hunter or rogue wants to pull. I'll grab whatever aggro I can and try to keep the healer alive. Hunters and rogues are two classes I can do without in instances due to the people who usually play them.
