I know that heavy clefthoof set was changed in the past and that it now requires LW to wear. Here is my question: Does every piece require LW or must i have Lw to wear the whole set(it loks this way to me) THX ppl
Anyone able to wear leather can wear the heavy clefthoof set. Only the set bonus requires you to be leatherworker. Some pieces are bind on pickup, and thus require you to make the item yourself but most of them do not require that you keep leatherworking. The special receipes from primal, dragonscale and elemetal leatherworker all require you to have to keep leatherworking, and keep the specialisation to wear.
Drums are the only items i can recal wich requires the user to be leatherworker.

Yeah, the tooltips for the HCL pieces does kinda make it seem like only 350+ leatherworkers can wear the pieces/set, but any druid (of any profession) can wear the entire Heavy Clefthoof set.
In fact, the bonus that 350+ leatherworkers get when they equip all three pieces is +20 strength. It's allright, but not all that valuable for tanking. It'd be much more compelling as +20 stamina or even +20 agility.

I just consider the +20 str to be a nice threat gaining bonus. I think that's why they made it the LW only bonus, because it's not important, but it's not useless either.

Eh, it's okay, but bears are already threat machines; the reality of it is that it's a drop in the bucket.

With respect to the threat that may be true, but the extra AP gained from the +20 str is still nice, as the tanking set will be lacking in pure AP and be focussed on sta, def, armor and agi (for the dodge).
