i specced arcane!Follow

on my mage!

Arcane seems to be a good overall tree with great burst potential. Frost (from what I hear is pure survivability). Personally though, if I were to roll a mage I would go either full fire or fire/arcane hybrid for the burst damage.

Just remember, as a mage, you will be nerfed by every single glitchy patch.

I've been doing a fire build with the essential points in arcane. But my mage is only 30ish so there's not muvh versatility I can do with my talents right now. Still though, the burst damage is incredible. I just about 2-shot everything one on one. That's my human mage. My undead mage, however, is a frost build. Not sure which I like better though because they are two completely different play styles.

Either way, mages are so fun! I think mt rogue is beginning to feel neglected.

It's sometimes difficult to play the same class in two seperate ways. The other day one of my guildies on Ally side was about to run through an instancee for some shards when I logged on. He asked me to come along to keep him company and told me to bring my level 30 mage so I'd get some exp out of it. Anyway, he pulled a whole group of mobs with his kitty and at this point he would throw a volley usually. So I ran in, frost nova'd and jumped back to throw down some AoE action... barely phased them, Apparently fros AOEs aren't as effective when you're fire specced o.O

On a different occasion I was on my undead mage and this same guildy was on his lock (yeah, it's the same guild with the same people on both factions lol). Anyway, we were grinding out some quests and we're about to start a pull when I hit my 8 key. Well, with my undead mage being frost specced, my 8 key on him obviously isn't pyroblast, lol. So he says "GO!" and I sit down to eat, haha.
