Hello,
My main is a 70 feral druid... fyi

Now, I am currently stopping my 49 enh shammy at that level to score some honor and wait for a friend's pally to level. What I have noticed using damage calculators that until about 1k AP rock biter owns WF hands down. I would not have believed it. except I went from 40-49 using RockBiter MH and FlameTongue OH, I seem to always be top dps, even with other enh shaman. I also seem to be the only one not using WF. What I would like to know is if the 1k mark is truly the line? If so, when I switch to WF will I use a different OH chant like flametongue?

49 orc shaman on Kilrogg Osgrom(for some reason armory won't update him)

I'm sure this is beat to death, but I see so many people using WFx2, so I thought maybe I was looking at out of date data

I was looking for some input, but I guess I have my answers already. I'll just keep trying both spells out as I go.

thanks

I don't think I can really answer your question, but I can give the experience of my lvl 66 enhancment shammy.

I DW with Windfury on both weapons and its Kick *****

My AP 846.

I guess WF is a gamble in your hoping for it to proc,it has a 20% chance, so 1 in 5 hits will give you a WF proc (all things being =), which is = to 2 extra attack + an AP boost (both of which can crit and proc weapon enchants + Trinkets).

So I guess the question is does Rockbitter give more damage in 5 hits than 5 normal hits + 2 extra WF hits at + AP

My experience is that most of the time it does, also the feeling of a triple crit from WF + Weapon enchant + trinket proc is Amazing!

Also if your crit chance is high and you have Shamanistic focus + Flurry (And lets face it if your enhancment you should have!) each crit gives you a speed bonus and a shock mana reduction. An extra 2 attacks every 5 (on average) gives you more chance to crit.

Most of my fights start with Stormstrike and I normally (9/10) get a crit and/or a WF in the first couple of hits. From then on its downhill for the poor bugger I'm wailing on :P.

In fact most mobs start at 1/2 health when I fight em :P

I agree with bert, on the fact that winfury is like a gamble, im only a level 31 shaman, however WF is awesome when it procs. IMO shaman is mostly a gamble, im any play if you crit/WF proc you will own. I have had inatcnes where i crit 3-4 times in about 8 seconds, and have a few WF procs. Othertimes ive gone like 15 minutes without a single crit. Rockbiter/Flametongue may seem to do more dmg but thats because they are sustained, there is no chance for them. They work everytime you hit. But say you get 5 WF procs every 3 sec (hidden 3 sec cooldown im told of). Thats a hell of alot more dmg then RB/FT. AS for out dps'ing everyone else in your group, it also depends on your gear compared to theirs. I know in some groups i out dps everyone without even meaning to, whereas othertimes i put all my effort into it and some twink rogue or mage blows me away. Also player skill, and ability to adapt to a classes play style. But WF HAS THE POSSIBILITY of far out dps'ing RB/FT. Atleast thats my expirence as a 31 shammy. -Battousai B*otch.
