Ding! 70!..Now what?Follow

#1 Jan 10 2008 at 10:35 AM Rating: Decent
I've played BM all the way to 70 and honestly, I'd love to play something else right now. I was thinking about MM, but I'm not sure what builds are good for PvP. I'm on a pvp server and love it on my hunter.

So, my question is...what now? Should I go for a new pet? I've been using an Owl since lv 40 or so, so I'm kinda itching for something else. What would be a good talent build for BGs? Mainly MM.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

My PvP build does wonders.
It has all you can want for pvp, imp. Concussive and Wing Clip, +10% hp, surefooted, deterrence, big hits, scatter, silencing and a shorter Arcane cooldown.

Its awesome to shoot a priest with arcane and see his shield go *poof* and then multi critting him for 2100 dmg.
(though i'll admit... priests and mages are the easiest targets for a hunter)

I like your PvP build Aethien, I wonder if GftT is as applicable in PvP though. With fewer 'crits' in PvP due to the ascendance of resilliance, I'm not sure the pet would get much additional focus from it. Perhaps Rapid Killing might be more useful? I mean it's only a 10% bonus to a first shot after downing a foe, but perhaps for the cooldown advantage? Some PvP fights can go on for a while, especially against Paladin's. Might need everything to dump out on them do down them.

It looks good, just wondering if the GftT points couldn't be better spent elsewhere. RK may not be the place either... Hmmm.

with 22% crit, i still crit quite often.
Especially in BG's where most people arent that well geared.

edit: as for RK, i dont stand and shoot all that often, and as long as you're moving rapid fire wont do anything for you.

no entrapment or clever traps?
i find those two talents extremely useful for both normal pvp and arena

Are you serious? Dude, read some stuff and do a search. This isn't hard, however answering your question is.

I/we dont know anything about you. What level? Build for what? PvP, PvE, raiding, CC, damage, soloing? What? We can and usually will help people who try. So.... give us your armory link, tell us what you want to be doing. Read the damn sticky at the top of the hunter forums. It gives several VERY viable builds for almost anything. If you still have questions, then come back and start your own thread as a semi educated poster.

If you show people here that you put forth some effort on your own you will get much much better help and answers.

I think your spec choice will depend on what you want to do with your character now. If you want to PvP for epic gear in BG's, spec to MM you can't go wrong. If you're looking for a good raiding spec, BM or Surv may be better. If you are planning on raiding, I would stay as BM as you're still going to have to run instances to get Kara geared.

C'mon, rinkkel. :-/
He's got two posts, his .sig is "hi.. i dont like you", and he asks the most despised question on this board (or perhaps only slightly behind "What's the best pet?") as an off-topic interruption in the middle of a thread. With 6 question marks... My troll alert is screaming.

xaesor: Clever Traps loses a lot in PvP. The extended duration Freezing is lost, and the added damage from the other traps isn't terribly effective.

So I ended up switching to MM...loved it for a while, but when farming, it make killing enemies pretty difficult. So I switched back to BM, and love it for PvP and for Primal farming. Currently working on engineering to make that Khorium Destroyer and just casually pvp while I think of an alt.

The khorium destroyer is great for tanks but not that useful for hunters, unless you want it for the stamina boost in PvP. A better option would be one of the weapons in Aethen's pre-raid gear list. Its another of the stickies at the top of the forum and linked below.
