Fireball vs Scorch/Fireblast vs Frost for lvlingFollow

Hi, Im currently a lvl 32 Fire mage with this[link=http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?0000000000000000000000005523201030001100000000000000000000000000000[/link] build. My usual fights are: Pyro as opener, then scorches and fire blast until dead. I chose this as i read somewhere that you do better DPS with faster FBlasts and Scorches (with Imp Scorch) along with the more common stun procs with Impact and more common crits so more ignites (because youll be casting more scorches and fireblasts than if you were only using fireballs therefore criting is more likely[and even more likely with Incinerate] ). I dont take Imp Fireball because I use scorches instead

But is useing Scorch/Fireblast better DPS or mana efficient than just: Pyro, Fireball, Fireball? meaning faster and more efficient lvling.
Also how do these fire methods stack up alongside the new frost tree lvling build?

I leave it up to you far more expierenced Mages to give me guidance.

Also I was wondering what does best DPS, Imp Fireballs, Imp Frostbolts or Imp Scorches+Fireblasts?

best DPS over a period of time will be fireballs or eventually (when you spec that way) 5xscorch followed by 8 fireballs then a scorch to keep a debuff up. Normally I can do a single pyroblast and a fireball or two and the mob is dead. I believe the DPM (at least at higher levels) is fairly good using just fireballs + pyroblast, then you could always follow up with a fireblast at the end if they are close to dying (although it is fairly mana inefficient).

Frost is efficient because of the frostbite, etc procs that really help out the slightly less damage that the frost spells have with shatter crits.

I know that at 70 with Empowered Fireball and plenty of +spell damage, fireballs outdo scorches, but say this mage was at level 35ish with barely any +damage, and put their first 5 points into Impact instead of Fireball. Would the difference between Fireball and Scorch-Fire Blast be that different?

that is difficult to predict for a couple of reasons:

Little theorycrafting can be done at level 35 because of gear differentials and because impact does not improve dps at all (unless you count time where you are being hit and your cast being delayed), I would take improved fireball but may pick up impact later.

Then again, I leveled frost almost exclusively to 70, but am now fire.

Well, I'm not seeking advice here unlike Rusty, but in fact, Rusty's question sparked the curiosity in me. Fireball, without the scaling that comes near the endgame, doesn't really show up in strength compared to Scorch.

Using this http://www.arcannis.com/mage_calculations.php tool a bit, assuming 5% base crit, level 36 (with a http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/mage/talents.html?0000000000000000000000005523001230303000000000000000000000000000000 build), I found that the new rank of Fireball still pulls fireball spam ahead even in this spec, but so negligibly that it doesn't seem to matter as much, and I didn't factor in scorch debuffs, Fire Blast GCD-fitting, nor Impact keeping a mage alive longer.

(If you use the tool, make sure you choose to show Sustained damage. Also, it's a bit outdated as it doesn't take back the damage tax on Improved Fireball.)
