What does your talent build look like?

Don't know why the Snake Trap should be a problem to you. They hit for like 10-20 when you're in Dire Bear form with Demoralizing Roar. You should really enable enemy cast bar so that you can shift out before he lands a Scare Beast on you. Use Feral Charge to catch up with him if he slows you down.

With Hunters it's all about being in their face constantly. Get close and they lose most of their effectiveness and damage output. Make sure you have the PvP trinket so you can break out of Freezing Trap or Scare Beast.

You'll want to open the fight in Cat form, UNLESS.. unless you've been spotted. If you can get a Pounce and Mangle in on him, followed by Rip, that's some nasty DoT going on. Don't try using Maim as he'll most likely go Beast Within once you Pounce him to break the stun. That's okay, though, because it just means you'll have an easy fight. Switch to Bear form and outlast his damage while using Mangle and Feral Charge to annoy him. Use a single Lacerate to keep a bleed effect on him so he can't bandage. Might want to save some rage so you can use Frenzied Regeneration if he crits a lot.

Once his Beast Within buff is done, use Bash and either switch to Cat form directly or use Barkskin and switch out to heal up (Barkskin will prevent his pet from delaying your heals). If you didn't apply the Rip when you opened the fight, spam Mangle followed by Shred (I would need some info on your talent build here) until you have 5 points and finish off with Maim. This time he can only break it if he uses the trinket. If he doesn't break it, just wait for the energy to regen and then continue the Mangle and Shred spam followed by Maim.

If he breaks Maim, switch back to Bear form and continue spamming Mangle and Feral Charge whenever you can. Again, he should be close to death here if you have a decent amount of attack power and crit rating.

The key is to stay close. He'll probably use Intimidation along with the Beast Within to try and nuke you down. It's important that you get into Bear form once he starts laying down the hurt, because you're really vulnerably in Cat form.

Use Frenzied Regeneration when you're at 50% health and have 100 rage. Don't use anything but Mangle while Frenzied Regeneration is ticking. And keep hitting him!

For the record, I have both a level 70 Feral Druid and level 70 Beast Mastery Hunter. A Dwarven Beast Mastery Hunter. Probably the worst case scenario for a Feral Druid fighting a Hunter. Stoneform owns Pounce, Rake and Rip big time.

The big hassle with the snake trap is the damn poison that slows you. A skilled hunter of almost any spec can be a tough opponent. They have so many snares & movement impairing effects that you find feral charge almost always on cooldown and have to watch your mana from shifting out of the slows all the time. The good news is that they are actually pretty squishy once you can get in their faces :)

As a BM hunter myself, I really enjoy fighting druids (except Resto).

What I do for feral is constantly lay down frost traps and kite you around inside the range of the trap, I have conc. shot if you go outside the effect. If all you do is chase me around you will lose. Feral charge and you will get a wingclip/raptor strike. I have also had druids start to go after my pet, not sure why, that will always cause you to die. Which is why BM hunters can be rough, our pets are putting out too much DPS to ignore, yet if you turn to the pet you have just lost.

A good druid from what I have seen will pop out to heal. This is when I use intimidate and viper sting, then run in and use arcane torrent to silence you. I will try and get you to use your trinket early on so I can freeze you and then charge up aimed shot followed by arcane, if you are in any form other than bear (or moonkin) you will most likely be dead.

Balance druids are a little more simple in my opinion. With equal gear to my own it is always a good fight. I can interrupt you with intimidate, I can silence you with BE racial, I can snake trap you to make your life hell, I will defintely keep viper sting on you. Hibernate my pet or anything like that and I go beastial and hit rapid fire, it is usually over.

Resto is just a long fight trying to outlast your stupidly sick mana pools.

Many hunters hate druids because prior to dead zone changes you could whoop our asses, now I will actively seek out druids to engage. I almost always learn something from the fight, win or lose.

I'm only 60 so havent had to deal with the snakes yet -- they sound like a pain -- but wanted to add one more idea. If you have it, turn on nature's grasp once you're in melee with the hunter and the hunter has burned through beast within. S/he will probably wing clip and there's a chance they'll be rooted, which will ruin their day. If it's the pet that hits you, the pet's rooted and you can move away from 40% of the hunter's damage (again, if it isnt big and red yet).
