White attacks, weapon speed and damage Follow

#1 Jan 09 2008 at 5:23 AM Rating: Decent
Hi to eveyone
My question:

Are white attacks normalized ?

That’s because I’ve to choose between two swords. IF white att. are NOT normalized, I’d consider both formulas:

damage = base_weapon_damage + (weapon_speed * Attack Power / 14)
normalized_damage = base_weapon_damage + (NORMALIVED * Attack Power / 14)

In this case, I would have sword A doing more normalized damage but less “white” damage than sword B.
I suppose there’s something I have not understood because, if it’s true, It would be almost impossible to choose one weapon.

Moreover...

If I consider the formula from wowwiki:

Minimum Range = (((Minimum damage / Weapon Speed) + (Melee Attack Power / 14)) * (Weapon Speed))
Maximum Range = (((Maximum damage / Weapon Speed) + (Melee Attack Power / 14)) * (Weapon Speed))
DPS = ((Minimum Range + Maximum Range) / 2) / Attack Speed

The result is a trade off between damage and weapon speed (or, as I suppose, I've done wrong calculations...) The more the speed, the less the damage (I know, it's not this way, but can't understand why. Where'e the mistake in the formula ?)

Could someone help me ?
Thanks
