I'm kinda new, but I was wondering...I thought they normally let you re-choose your talents when they made changes to the tree. I have Icy Veins automatically now and I don't really want it. Will I need to fork out the gold to respec? :(

This wasn't a massive talent overhaul, so yes, you'll need to fork over the gold.

I'm kinda curious why you wouldn't want Icy Veins, though. It's a sweet talent.

You have to remember I'm fairly new at this, currently a 32 frost-specced mage. I don't really have any experience with talent-choosing so I just pick what seems to be the most useful. Icy Veins seems nice, I suppose, but it only lasts 20 seconds and I'm not sure how much that would help me. I guess since I already have it, I might as well try it out. Perhaps for soloing something tough it would be helpful? I would certainly submit to more experienced players on the subject.

Also, how do I get Ice Block back? I just got it yesterday and now I've already lost it.

For Ice block, anyone above level 30 just goes to the trainer and learns it.

If you have both the talents Frostbite and Shatter, Icy Veins will help you kill things faster by both making you cast frostbolts at them faster and by giving those frostbolts a higher chance to proc Frostbite, which means you'll more often get a chance to Shatter crit them.

speaking of this, has anyone had any luck with frostbite procs on frostbolts?

I only play my alt frost mage on the weekends, so I haven't had a chance to check.

I don't think they fixed it. I was on add control in bm last night and if I remember right, there was a few times adds came out of the portal and I would hit them and they would bug out, but I was half asleep when I ran. I will have to check it out tonight.

I'm getting many more procs than I had been. I have yet to hear the sound, watch the mob hesitate, then head my way since the patch (1.75 levels).

Still it's hard to say, could just be a string of good luck.

For what it's worth, I played a few BG's lastnight and had frostbite proc off of frostbolt quite a few times, much to my target's dismay :)
