Hey folks,

Saw this on the test realm patch notes (for the patch that's going in live today) and saw this:

/cast will toggle spells again unless the name is prefixed with an exclamation mark, e.g. /castsequence Steady Shot, !Auto Shot

Can someone explain to me how that ! changes the macro from one that doesn't have that ! ?

Thanks!

If i understand this correctly...

/cast will be a toggle now. The first time you use it (in a macro) it will turn autoshot on; the next time you use it it will turn it off. This was an issue since the last patch, causing clipping problems with even properly timed 1:1.5 shot rotations. Naturally, you want '/cast auto shot' to just shoot and not toggle on/off, so now if you put '/cast !auto shot' you should shoot once and thats it.

correct me if im wrong.

That's my understanding also, Timorith. Just add the '!' to your shot rotation macro to keep your Auto Shot from being constantly toggled on and off as you mash away.

Ok, I went and added the exclamation points, and something strange happened (or maybe this is how it's supposed to work, idk):

We'll use my "don't worry about CC" macro for an example. It's supposed to fire steady, arcane, auto, steady, multi, auto, steady, auto... rinse and repeat.

What I get instead is a steady followed by an arcane and auto firing at the same time. Then a long pause until another auto fires. Then a steady, multi, auto. Steady, auto, rinse and repeat. Now, maybe this is a good thing, but it's disconcerting, and noone was running a dps meter tonight to see if it was ******** me up. I can't imagine that the long pauses while I wait for a SECOND auto to fire can be good.

Should this be happening? If not, how do I fix it? I'm using the macros in Aethian's Kara sticky, just added the exclamation points before every auto shot.

I had to change my BM macro (steady shot, autoshot)and add the ! so that autoshot wouldn't shut off. The ! does exactly what the posters here have said it does: keep autoshot going after it triggers the first time. Thanks for the responses.

Yeah, that part works. But why is it that on the other macros, the auto shot fires first (before arcane - although it appears to be at the same time), then it waits until another auto is fired before doing the next steady?
