Just curious if people think that icy veins would be worth a try. Currently I'm fire speced doing pvp for the complete enjoyment of it. I don't currently arena and even with my relatively sub par equipment I'm at the top of the kill and dps charts in BG's.

I digress; does anyone believe that the -20% cast time would be worth anything in this department?

The problem with your spec choice would be that you are forgoing many nice talents to get talents in other sections. How often do you have time to wind up a pyroblat or a fireball? I would normally pick one or the other (fire or frost) and put some points in arcane to compliment it.

This is true. However the ONLY reason I have pyro is for AP/PoM/Pyro. I generally scorchx5(Usually more often than that because I crit for roughly 900-1.1K at least 50% of the time it seems) and if they are still up. . .Fireball and AP/PoM/Pyro to finish them off.

I really enjoy scorch. It is my absolute favorite spell right now because of the incredibly short cast time. Nothing worse than getting your face melted as you try and get a frost bolt or fireball off, you know?

And in your opinion what do you think the important talents are that I am forgoing for fire/arcane pvp (given the fact that we all know fire/arcane isn't a pvp build)?

I'm currently spec'd 41 points arcane (yup all the way to Slow!)20 fire.

I love my scorch debuff! I love ignite! I love flame throwing! Nothing like an slowed warrior that's loaded with a scorch debuff, trinket/ap/pom/pyro crit for 7k, that ignite ticks for 1800 x2! (dead warrior imo)even if he isnt dead, poof that fireblast does it! still not dead, frost nova + ice lance! whoa all with AP if your fast.

In the end, you really have to play the spec you enjoy playing, and not worry so much about specs you dont enjoy, after all, every player has a different playstyle, and different specs compliment them.

I may try a few spec's with the new ice spell, simply because its new.

Orickruns, thanks for the reply. What you say is true and it is always in the back of my mind for all of my characters. I've got a 70 paladin, 70 rogue, 70 druid, and the 70 mage, and a 70 warrior in the works (currently 52); and with so many 70's and horrible ADHD, it's very difficult to stick to one thing. I'm a slave to trends, "bandwagon", and truly if large crits and being top DPS was sex, I would be a total ***** for it (bed strapped to back and all!). I don't like being seen as a gimp if I can help it. I just enjoy fire so much, I really can't see myself going back to frost for a while. At least until I get a bit more spell damage (only at +498).

My 8 year old kid who ignores chat and runs around doing whatever he wants when he BG's on my toons tops dmg and killing blows as well.

I wouldn't let him arena for me though.
