People keep telling me that I probably shouldn't be wearing mail given my spec, but I don't want to sacrifice armor for greater spell crit and possibly more int. Besides, given that I only wear mail armor I would like to think that my current spell bonus/spell crit is pretty decent. Should I listen to these people and get cloth gear until the higher levels, should I continue with the gear that I currently have, or should I respec to something like Enhancement?

Shaman have no way to mitigate damage as other casters do. Our armor is our first, last, and only line of defense. Thus, at least when soloing, we need to be wearing as much mail as possible at all times. In parties it's possible to wear more cloth and leather since you shouldn't be getting hit as much, if at all, outside of AoE's.

This really shouldn't be an issue considering we're the only mail-wearing caster DPS class, so all of the caster mail in Outland is tailor-made for the stats we need. There's simply no good reason not to wear it if you can get it.
