Spellfire and PvP?Follow

#1 Jan 07 2008 at 2:43 PM Rating: Decent
So I am an ACTUAL girl playing WoW and am about to get to craft my Spellfire set. Now, I'm not trying to lump us all in one stereo-type or anything, but I'm big on trying to make my toons match. I noticed that the Spellfire set has no mantle (shoulders) and people are saying that I would need to PvP for them. My question is which pvp is going to give me some shoulders that will actually match or come somewhat close to matching this set? As you can tell I don't PvP much at all. :) Or maybe there is a faction I can earn rep with for some good shoulders? I'd appreciate the feedback!! XD

Think people are telling you to get the Gladiator's Silk Amice. Its Season 1 armor gear which can be purchased with 11250 honor points and 20 Arathi Basin marks. I think they look pretty cool with my spellfire set. But then again, Im a guy so what do I know about looks. You can check them out here:

That is probably the closest to that, that or the High Warlords Silk Amice (assuming horde) to get them.

Nice another girl in WoW /waves and blows kiss :)

Yeah fraid that for my Spellfire set I was in the same siuation. I was told by my amused guild leader (he knows I'm a stubborn Luddite who adores frost) that a Spellfire set for SSC would be useful or my usually good dps would suffer due to SSC mobs frost immunity (stupid game). So I've pvp'ed for the Season 1 shoulders and aside from them all that is goo is the Seaon 2 (go figure) or the Tier 4s. There is a pair of caster shoulders in kara with spell penetration on (O.o).

My conclusion (its a biased thing that us girls I think want our toons to look good and match) that 1) Arena 1 shoulders are ugly 2) Arena 2 shoulders aren't quite as ugly but don't match 3) The Kara spell penetration shoulders look pretty but are rubbish 4) There is a lack of shoulders period in the game

Also... I'm glad to be frost most of the time (I love the spikey look plus you can get gloves which Shadoweave lack off Attuman in Kara - Handraps of flowing thought - which have great stats and match Shadoweave perfectly). Someone once pointed out that a pair of good looking shoulders finishes an outfit and I agree; I prefer my mage in Shadoweave for this reason and wish there was a hide shoulers option for Spellstrke (have the S1 shoulders. Sry to Mobsterbate but i think theyre hideous)

No rep faction for shoulders (not even the Badges of justice npc bit generally... if you want a nice looking toon go ice, get crappy shoulders or live with it :). I know how you feel tho lol

I probably care more about my character's looks than most anyone in the game, and I am not sporting the double X chromosomes.

Arena 1 shoulders look awesome with Arena 1 robe/gloves. T4 shoulders actually look pretty decent with Spellfire(I know a guy wearing em). The shoulders off of (Tidewalker?) look spiffy(they better, they're based on Warlock shoulders), never tried to see if they match with Spellfire. T5 shoulders are a little understated, but would probably look good with Spellfire(they certainly look good with the rest of T5). And there's another pair of shoulders from TK: The Eye which are slightly recolored mage T5 shoulders that I think would look awesome with Spellfire.

I had a chance to log into the game before I left my apartment for work, so I checked all of the shoulders I listed. Sure enough, the shoulders from trash mobs in TK: The Eye looks pretty good with Spellfire and so does T5.

mantle of the elven kings I believe is that shoulder piece. I have the mantle of the illidari (off of morogrim) it is my temporary pvp shoulder, but definitely not great for anything particular (I have T5 shoulders as well).

Would be the Illidari shoulders. Makes you look like a warlock.

Especially when combined with this.

Thanks for the feedback guys...<sigh>, yeah I know if I PvP enough I can get the WHOLE set of something...but...ack...so much PvP'ing! We'll I guess in the end it comes down to that age old question. "Style or Substance?" :)

Idk, you would think that since Blizzard put so much emphasis in making the chick toons in the game have thongs and bra's on for armor (which, interestingly, seem to fit the guys like WHOLE pieces of armor) they would have at least made all the pieces fit together. XD
