I know it isn't listed in the patch notes, but are they going to fix the bug with frostbite not proccing on frostbolts? From the sounds of it, we are getting our patch tomorrow:)

Keep in mind that you gain 50% crit from frozen targets, and you can never achieve 100% crit due to a cap ( though I'm not sure what it is ). So it is possible that your FB just...didn't crit.

I believe that I have had it proc, but it seems to be a much much smaller % than 15%.

I believe that I'm getting some that proc and some where the mob stops for a split second as if Frostbite had procced and continues going.

I'm not talking about the crit, I am talking about frostbite actually proccing. I know when it procs and when it doesn't. I have played frost enough to know this.

I read somewhere that that was a bug and those mobs stopping for a split second should actually be frozen in place.

I think what's happening is that the frostbolt that is frostbiting is ALSO breaking its own frostbite (which is dumb because that same frostbolt doesn't get +crit bonus from being frozen). The mob always acts like it does just after getting out of being frozen. Pretty sure it is a glitch, I haven't heard anything about fixing it though. :(

You can be sure, that if it isnt "Officially" broken, they arent gonna fix it.

I believe that they have stated that it is not working properly, but I could be wrong.

Found it. From a blue himself. I guess they aren't going to fix it with this patch. I would think if they did, it would be in the patch notes.

because god knows it much be so difficult to make it so a frostbolt can cause frostbite to proc... I mean seriously, it is the main aspect of solo frost leveling and it is entirely broken.

I dusted off my mage alt today to respec frost and give Icy Veins a try (also I've learned that I hate soloing as fire :s) and frostbite seemed to be proccing fairly normally for me. Hopefully it wasn't just a lucky streak and it really is fixed, but my inner cynic somehow doubts it would be that easy...

I wonder why they didn'tt fix it if they have known about if for that long. I just don't understand blizz sometimes. Armory was broke, yeah it is in beta, it is going to break. Frostbite isn't in beta, its been around for a long time.

I noticed prior to patch 2.3.2 that it was an issue, and as another post stated, for me as well, it seemed like my ice armor procced it all the time which irked me to no end due to the simple fact that in those cases, many times I did not have enough time to get back to cast in time for the full shatter benefit. Or I was facing the other way :(

Now in this patch, and even when IV has not been used it now seems my FBs are proccing it more often, in the range it should be, 15% I believe. While it was stated somewhere by blizzard that they were working on it and were aware of the issue prior to this last patch. Seems to me that they corrected the error through it.

After playing last night and clearing trash in Kara, I think they fixed frostbite. It was proccing way more then before the patch.

Before the patch, Frostbolts had this nasty tendency to prod the mob a bit. Just stop him in his tracks, for a split second, then move towards me again. Granted, I did see Frostbite procc from FB and work fine, but not 15% of the times. I never did a count or test, so I can't say for sure that little stutter of the mobs would account for the rest though.

After the patch, I did some finishing of quests I had left behind, and I didn't see that stutter anymore. Didn't really do any testing on it, but I can't say I saw much difference in the amount of Frostbite proccs though.

I'll be keeping an eye out on the forums though, for confirmation on whether or not it is fixed.

I noticed it immediately.

The first instance I ran, mobs were being frozen at an alarming rate for me. I 5 man heroic a LOT, and I can honestly say that whatever they did, is more consistent, and its more pronounced. No more stutters on mobs, just bam, frozen.

My damage went up because obviously, its working correctly, so I get more chances to throw a FB/IL 2 piece combo and get 2x crit on a frozen mob.

I hope you guys are right! I haven't had much time to play my mage since the most recent patch, so I haven't been able to test it out myself. I've only been frost for a little while, but I can't wait to see the full effect of Frostbite. That "stutter" has been happening to me quite a bit--if those are all going to turn into Frostbite procs now...w00t!

Funny (sad) how excited we can get over something, you know, working correctly.

The frostbite procs do work, I specced frost for TK (al'ar fight) and different mobs (who were CCable) were having frostbite proc on them.
