I cant tell you how pissed I get when I have a Shaman targeted and I throw a fireball or a PM/Pyroblast only to realized Ive somehow auto-targeted his totem. Whats the deal with that? Am I doing something wrong or is its some defensive spell theyre using?

Grounding Totem This is easily resolved by launching an ice lance, but since you are fire, a rank 1 scorch would be ok. Just try to use a quick casting time spell to get it down before you start attacking.

Edit: Wand it down:)

Not a big deal, I think the first time I encountered a shaman that wanted to die, I wasn't sure why my frostbolt didn't do anything. I had to come on here and figure out what the deal was.

Good shamans will watch your cast bar and drop it right at the end of your frostbolt. But yeah, whenever possible ice lance that sucker.

heh grounding totem is really the only defense a shaman has against a mage. earth shock is too unrelaible(and short range, compared to a mage's say, fireball that you want to interrupt) and resist totems are crap. with ES, one might see glowy hands, but that's the scorch coming out and ES has been wasted. :(
