Right now, I have a level 20 Holy Priest, and I usually group with my father (level 20 Fury Warrior). Thus far, we, or to be more accurate, he, has been able to tear through most anything that is thrown against us in terms of questing. I'm pretty much their to throw up PW: Shield or Renew, as well as an occasional "Oh ****" heal.

I'm considering respeccing into the Shadow or Discipline tree, as for what we're doing right now, most of the heals I toss onto him really seem to get him back to full, and I am just bored to death whenever I play the class with him. I'm thinking that with a respec, it could make our little twosome a little more interesting to play

Should I stay Holy, or go with my instinct and respec?

Respec. You'll heal him easily as Shadow and the two of you will tear through things faster.

Respec asap. You can easily heal your 2 man group forever as shadow spec. You will also be able to heal 5 man groups well into the 60s. You will just need 2 sets of gear eventually for healing and damage when possible.

Yeah definitely respec. Especially after you get VE you'll be able to DPS along with him and VE will keep him up at near full health.

Well, with the +healing gear giving 1/3 +dmg, you can still get by as holy. Plus as you get to the late 30s you can pick up spiritual guidance and surge of light.

The pvp rewards in the 29 bracket give decent +dmg/healing while providing other stat bonuses as well. At your level you can have 2.0s smites with +5% crit chance.

Holy isn't as sexy as melting faces, but it gets the job done, plus holy nova is fun :) I would still suggest that the majority of your damage output come from your wand though (no mana).

That's stupid. He wants to increase his activity. Wanding will do the opposite. Wanding is okay when you're getting low on mana but shouldn't be your primary dps.

Respec and you'll still be able to heal him just fine. The difference is you'll add a lot of dps to the fights.

Shadow is a popular choice for leveling. I think it's overkill for a duo, since you lose Spirit Tap (trust me, a Fury warrior is a killing blow hog) and the efficiency of your DoTs (things will die too fast). The enemy, you see, is downtime. A Fury warrior can kill as long as he has health; with you around, he has health. Therefore, the limiting factor on how fast the two of you kill is your mana pool.

So, go Discipline. The tree will help your mana efficiency and allow you to do more in battle without slowing the two of you down. Plus, you'll be an above-average healer for instances (Holy is definitely overkill at low levels, but Discipline gives you a lot of buffer room).
