Can druids mine/skin in bear/cat form?

Skin yes, Mine no.

Which is why herb/skin is far better for a druid.

Really? I didn’t know that. I’ve only played one druid and he has skinning and flower picking. Since I can do both of those in forms I just assumed we would also be able to mine. How odd.

Yeah, it's the same with shamans and ghost wolf. You can herb and skin while in form, but can't mine. It's really kind of annoying, but it makes mining a less desired profession unless you're using it to supply a crafting skill (someday my shammy will get his blacksmithing up...)

It is really annoying, but I don't seem them ever changing it. Biggest reason for it (I'm guessing here) is that mining actually has the whole pick-swinging animation, while none of the other gathering professions have a really noticeable animation.

You can start mining and you'll auto shift out, so all you need to do is change back into your animal form after. Doesn't seem that big a deal.

Oh and I don't know about Tree form, but Moonkins can mine.
