Howdy, well I finally got keyed for KAra. Now I'm not really set for it, at least stat adn gear. I'm holy spec and trying my best to get the gear and stats suggested in the pre-kara guild. Many thanks for that.

Now I've never been in a raid group. And I hear that KAra is pretty intense. I've been using healbot to help with healing in our dungeon runs. Is there any thing item wise I should look for? I usually like to have a Elixir of Healing Power with me and our one enchanter has been giving us an oil for mana regen. Thanks for any input.

Man I wish someone would write a guide for holy paladins first starting raiding. And I also wish someone else would write a general guide covering useful mods. And boy oh boy do I wish those posts could somehow be 'stickied' at the top of the forum where everyone can clearly see it and read it. Man. Wouldn't that be great?

Sorry Dilbrt, I've been reading your sticky. I just didn't see anything on items(potions, elixirs, etc). I'd just hate to be a problem when we start it up.

You want a consumable section? OK, I can do that.

Kara isn't that hard. Most groups employ 3 healers so generally the other 2 can take up the slack if you aren't doing as well. In general, at least 1.1k healing is the bare minimum to be able to heal through the entire raid. If your group employs a raid healer like a shammy to aoe heal the rest of the group, your job becomes simpler still, where all you do is spam FoL on the tanks. Remember to keep blessing of light ont he tanks, and use lower rank holy lights (i use 8) when you need slightly larger heals. Max rank holy lights should be reserved for emergencies, as it really does drain mana quickly.

That's all there is to it really. IMO Heroics are much harder to heal than Kara, seeing as there's only 1 healer to heal a group of 5. But kara isn't a very hard raid, just listen to the boss strats and keep your mind on the job, you'll do fine. I usually either afk out during the trash mob sections and let the other 2 healers do it (benefits of being an officer =D) or i'll just throw out a big heal every now and then.
