Best tanking enchantFollow

I am currently using Mongoose on my Kings Defender.

However, I am a bit disappointed over the proc rate + the fact that an enchant that procs now and then gives a bit "uneven" performance over time. Therefore maybe its better to put +7 damage or +20 strength on it instead.

What do you say? What is the best tanking enchant in your opinion?

Mongoose is better than either, although +7 is actually a decent comparison in terms of threat output. Mongoose provides the dodge though, which is what pushes it to the top of the enchants.

You're disappointed with the proc rate of mongoose? That's one of the few times I've ever heard that complaint.

I find that Mongoose actually procs a lot and when it procs it gives me around 4% dodge... Which is around 45 dodge rating if im not mistaking. Im lovin' it.

The main problem with things that proc short term buffs like that is that they're just as likely to proc at the end of a fight as they are to proc at the beginning. If mongoose procs at the end of a fight it's a waste unless you go back into battle almost immediately.

Which, in most tanking situations, is the case since most instances don't have mobs sitting around by themselves that can be solo pulled. As soon as the mob is dead, pick a CC'ed mob and use Intercept. Unless there's some that aren't CC'ed, in which case you should have aggro on it and it should therefore be hitting you, meaning you should be switching target immediately.

I was talking more about pulls than fights with individual mobs. Those extra stats don't mean much if you're just standing around waiting for casters to mana up after a pull or something.

when tanking boss type mobs, you'll have minutes of fight time. any boost to survivability helps healers keep you alive. 120 agi for 15 seconds every minute is really nice. and especially if you switched to a slower tanking weapon for devastate spamming (gladiators MH s1 s2 s3 for example). which affects PROC rates slightly.

I put +7 weapon damage on tanking weapons before i got kings defender.

7 weapon damage on a 1.5 speed is ~4.6 dps. More if you count devastate damage. 4% crit affects all damage including shield slam and revenge. And crit is sorely lacking on tanking gear, so getting any at all is nice. In my tanking gear I have roughly 150 dps white damage, and 4% of that is 6 dps. 6 dps every 15 seconds every minute, is roughly 1.5 dps. Considering that instant attacks proc mongoose, it's probably a bit higher on threat generation.

This is an argument for End Game MT style tanking. Of course while grinding or soloing, it's not gonna perform as well as static enchants will. Except for that one mob every 5 mobs that just happens to die a little quicker or you don't take as much damage from.
