Is there a "Ced's Carver" of swords?Follow

When I was leveling, I kept my main set of daggers and some backup swords. When I hit Outland I had gotten my Grand Marshal's Dirk and continuously kept upgrading my offhand, but didn't get a new set of swords because I respecced to an Ambush Step build (which I absolutely loved). From 60-70 I leveled and PvPed with that. When played correctly, this build can be absolutely devestating, especially in group play. I also came into some fist weapons and played around with that on occasion as well.

So here I am, level 70, mostly Gladiator's Gear with Primal Strike Bracers and a random "Skyguard Leggings of the Bandit" I got in a chest that are actually ALMOST as good as the S1 Glad pants (so no rush to upgrade), and both Gladiator's Daggers. As said before, when played correctly, the DPS is incredible n PvE and really good for smashing clothies in PvP. I love the challenge and the extra skill it requires to pull it off. When "in the zone" I never find myself outdamaged by a Sword rogue (but I've been playing dagger rogues across several MMOs for nearly 10 years.

Well I got home from work early yesterday and logged on to do my dailies. Cooking daily was in Skettis so I had to hunt some Warp Stalkers. Well.... I was doing terribly against these poor little 69s. I solo 70 elites all the time with ease, yet I was having trouble with these. After about 15 minutes I realized my problem: my main focus was on improving my lock's PvP skills and I was becoming a little bit lazy and apathetic with my rogue. Essentially, all I wanted to do was spam hemo (didn't even feel like opening with ambush, definitely didn't feel like gouging so I could get a backstab in). So here's my situation:

I'm a powerful dagger rogue by heart and I make the Ambush Step build look good, but right now I just want to be lazy for a change so I can focus on getting my mage and warlock to Outland and getting their PvP gear. All I really do on my rogue right now are dailies, farm, and PvP. Our instance runs have been cut down to about 3 a week and we're not raiding yet due to still getting other guildies geared. I decided I wanted to indulge my lethargic ways and respec to a sword build so I can play rogue on "easy mode" for a while. But here's he problem: I can't find a sword!

I browsed through rep rewards and the only one I found worth while was the Aldor one, but I don't want to switch from Scryer's (already exalted). The only halfway decent one I found on AH was a level 69 green "Of the Owl" that someone wanted 30g for, and all the others were level 65 and below with terrible damage and DPS compared to my daggers. I'm currently grinding honor towards the Glad Slicer (18k needed) but due to the little amount of time I am spending on my rogue due to lower level stuff with guildies, this is taking a while. I just wanted a good sword so tide me over until I had the honor to get my Glad Slicer. To be honest, my apathy makes honor grinding (a normally fun experience for me) annoying and frustrating because I'm already on vacation from my normal ways. One of the biggest problems though is that there are no obtainable swords with a higher damage than my Glad Shanker on my server that I can find. So my question is this:

Isn't there some kind of sword equivalent to Ced's Carver? You know, a decent level 70 blue sword that is easy to obtain so there are always a million on AH around 100g a pop? On my server, level 60-70 daggers are abundant on the AH and easy to obtain, but 60-70 swords are quite scarce. I browsed here, thottbot, shadowpanther, etc, and didn't find the answer I was looking for. So I'm just asking in general, is there an easy to obtain level 68-70 sword I can use til I get my Glad Slicer?

Thanks.

My experience has been that decent 1H swords are pretty rare on the AH, particularly at 65+. Your best hope for an AH-bought sword would probably be a high level "of the Bandit", but it's hardly ideal. I don't think I've ever seen a blue lvl 70 1H sword on the AH, certainly nothing good for Rogues. Obviously, each server's different, but I wouldn't expect them to be *that* different.

Have you checked wow-loot.com? If you're helping guildies get ready for Kara, they may be running some of the instances which drop decent lvl 70 swords, but other than that, I think you're stuck with the honor grind :(

Edge, S1, Reflex Blades (or whatever the main hand fist is called) are your best choices right now

Well, the dps may be low, but why is noone mentioning blinkstrike?
I'm not an expert to rogues, so don't jump on me if I made a mistake.
It seems like a good option though, a lvl 70 blue sword...

Blinkstrike's an epic, and usually goes about 2000g on the AH, alas.

But yeah, it's very nice - combined with Windfury and Sword Spec procs, I've seen about 6 attacks go off in one second before... of course, I died two seconds later from the unanticipated threat boost, but it was fun anyway :)

What sucks is that I don't have the time to grind out the 13k honor I still need in a couple days for my S1. What's worse is I am bored with my dagger build (mostly because we're not running a lot of instances this month) and so grinding honor is not really all that fun right now.

As for Blinkstrike, I would take that in a minute if I could get my hands on one.

I'm just bored and want something new for a while. I'll go back to daggers eventually, I just figured I'd go combat swords for a while (I usually switch up playstyles every couple of months).

Blinkstrike used to go for a lot more. It got nerfed as a side effect of removing chain procs on Sword Spec. It was one of the best swords in the game for a long time, because its proc + Windfury + Sword Spec gave you tons and tons of extra hits. When sword spec was changed to no longer be able to chain proc, the number of extra swings was cut drastically. The price has been steadily dropping ever since. I grabbed one a little while before I got my S2 sword, then decided it wasn't worth the money and resold it (600g profit), and got my S2 sword about two seeks later.

Unless you see it for around 500-600g, don't waste your money.
