Coming back after 2 yearsFollow

So I've come back to WoW after an almost 2 year break. I was wondering if someone can point me to some good weapons and armor for a Rogue now and what I should be working towards? I'm currently level 66 and I'm a sword rogue.

I currently have full Nightslayer set and both Dal Rends weapons. Yes I know, old by todays standards but it was top of the line when I quit the game. I've been back for a month now and have leveled up and I have gotten some decent greens and blues, but I have to say, my old nightslayer and dal rends weapons /still/ give me better crit %, attack power, and damage over anything I have gotten in Outland. I've even gotten two good blue swords with better stats, but when I equip them I still lose damage and crit %.

I don't mind PvPing and I also don't mind running instances, but after doing some pretty heavy raiding (Molton Core and BWL) I don't want to get into that kind of raiding again, 5 and 10 man stuff is about it. Can someone point in the right direction so I can upgrade my armor and swords?

Thank you.

get to 70 asap equipping any upgrades along the way, then replace all your gear in level 70 instance regular 5 mans. Youll get kara attuned and probably heroic attuned in the process.

No offense KTurner, but IMO this is not the best option. Level at your own pace and enjoy the game .

Actually maybe try to do some pre-70 Outland instances mostly for the very nice gear you can get for all classes but also for decent exp and Outland instance experiences.

Shadowrend Longblade drops off Watchkeeper Gargolmar in Hellfire Ramparts.

Scimitar of the Nexus-Stalkers drops off Tavarok in Mana Tombs.

Pretty sure both of those should be upgrades for you (I'm assuming you're combat swords, so you want a slow MH and fast OH?). Other than those, sword itemisation in the mid-60s is pretty crappy.

Once you hit 70, the most reliable way to get decent swords is almost certainly PvP. Grind honor in BGs for the Season 1 Arena weapons (remember to check the vendor to see which sort of marks you need in addition to the honor). Alternatively, try to get into an arena team and play 10 matches a week for a while (even if you lose all your matches, you'll get enough points for the swords relatively quickly).

There are a few sword drops in the lvl 70 instances, obviously, but none are really better than the PvP rewards.

Edited for crappy grammar :(

Because end game means nothing in this game right?

In other words, don't listen to him/her and get to 70 asap if you actually want to do anything remotely fun, Arenas, BGs, Heroic Dungeons.

Blizzard changed raiding since you have been around, so you might want to reconsider your impressions on raiding.
