Alright, I decided i'd start my Heroic/Raiding experience by grinding PVP epics for a Kodohide set. The set's are great for Stamina, Intellect and decent Mana/5, but the thing i've noticed comparing Heroic and Kara epics to PVP epics, is just that there's no Spirit at all on any of the PVP purples.

I know from already adding up all the bonuses, attachments and chants for a full set, that a PVP epic starter set should net just under 1,700 bonus Healing. I'm all "Whoo", because that's a lot, but what about Spirit? PVP epics have none, and Spirit-enhanced healing is the second bonus for using Tree Form.

I'm guesstimating that a PVE epic set should have 500 or so Spirit, whereas a PVP epic set barely stays over 200. Am I missing a LOT of my healing ability in Tree Form by not having a lot of Spirit, or can stacking pure bonus Healing make up for it while still using starter gear to get by until PVE epics are collected?

The thing about the PvP healing gear, is that it is rarely highly suitable for PvE healing. Bosses usually lay down alot more hurt than your average player, and thus healing them will be harder. PvP healing lies in giving a decent amount of healing (+healing, int and all that jazz) while providing you with high amounts of survivability. PvE healing gear rarely gives you any survivability in comparison, but more stats that suit PvE healing.

If you are gearing up for raidhealing, I suggest focusing on PvE gear. Once you have a decent kit, you can flesh it out with a couple of PvP epics.

Also, I rarely see any Druids PvP in treeform. It's really not that efficient. You gimp your movement speed, and movement in PvP is alpha and omega. Stay in casterform (and don't bother speccing treeform) and you can use your balance spells as well as heal efficiently. If you wish to heal in PvP, I suggest going for a Feral/Resto hybrid build, since it will allow you to survive alot longer.

you CAN spec tree form, and in some matchups its nice to fall back on (pretty much anything without a rogue or warlock is tree-capable, doubly so if a mage is present), but otherwise you dont use it in pvp much. its very situational, but in the situations its useful its usually very useful.

however, i wouldnt personally spec it.

Any idea how much Spirit adds to the Tree of Life healing bonus?

Per the Tree of Life tool tip, it increases the healing to PARTY member within 45 yards of you by 25% of your Spirit.

Since it is only a party member buff the ToL only makes sense for use in Arena and PvE. As previous people have said the lack of mobility in a BG is a horrible side effect that can cause issues.

I've been looking it up online, but have only found a discussion on a forum that predates TBC. 400 Spirit is still +100 bonus Healing to a target being healed, yes? That's the million dollar question.

Yes, but only within 45 yards, and only within your 5-man group of the raid.
