Not a mage and do not know why I am in the mage forums. BUT honestly, stfu. Judging by your attitude it is apparent that the reason you dont get teleports is because you are a mouthy little *****.

Be happy if you even ever get a teleport because hell, they dont have to do **** for you and your QQ isnt going to help.

I find it absolutely fine. Its their choice if they want to skip the experience of going to Outlands for the first time through the dark portal.

I'll pay special attention to people that complain about low levels going to Shat, to me its a sign of a very closed mind, the type of person that can spring nasty surprises on you.

Hm yeah... this is exactly why I have a bank toon in Silvermoon so I don't have to leave Outlands - the portal thing. No offense ues people offer to pay 1g/2g but they always ask at *the wrong time*. The last 5 polite requests were declined as I was either going to a raid/ a heroic. Sry but I pay for my game too and can usually not be bothered to do anything for a stranger if I don't have time. I'm here to play and relax, not portal people round because they don't want to discover Outlands themselves or are too lazy to work out what a Zepplin is.

Also... I only port to Shattrath. Don't like it don't enter - its my rune I bought to save people the inconvenience of their hearthstone. Walk 4 steps there is Undercity. Its pretty. It also means I don't summon 5 portals on top of each other to **** you off further.

Also... turn it on its head. How hard is it to be a mage to enter any city (not Shattrath) and not be bothered by strangers by a portal/ food they want and demand for free? I can log in for 2 seconds before a stream of purple letters swim up demanding - not asking (hence - Silvermoon bank).

Maybe I'm a *****. Maybe I'm a bad person. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. There's the zepplin there's the drink vendor. I can mark them on your map if that helps :p

And stop your boo hooing, little do you know women dont find that attractive.

Just saying, instead of ******** try to be NICE perhaps, goes a long way.

I'm married with three kids. I don't care what other women think.

And if I was nice all the time, the Greatest Mage Post Evertm wouldn't be nearly as entertaining as it is.

I have ran into some 70's though that must have money coming out of their ears that have given me 10g. This happens very rarely though

Had that happen with my rogue when I was opening a lockbox for a 70... I waited a second in case they meant to just give me 1g, but they accepted, so I did too lol.

My druid once got 10g from a guy I rezzed who happened to fall of TB's lifts in front of me.

Honestly, I tend to follow the "wait your turn" theory and charge them more. IMO there's no need to go to outlands pre-58, so if you want to go that badly, and I'm your ride there, you're going to have to pay for it.

Also, the typo in the quote made me laugh.

You find guild/friend mages/locks to port you ;)
Porting to Shatt is just easier - get one port, set your hearth to Scryers, and then it's a quick 20 seconds to get to any of the major cities. It's not skipping anything, it's just getting rid of the "lets spend 8 minutes flying to UC just to wait another 5 for the damn zep."

As for getting ports... I dunno. I'm pretty sure you're probably not one of those idiots who just /who mage and doesn't bother seeing if they're the right level or in the right zone, so I dunno.

Omg...I absolutely HATE being bothered for a damned portal. I swear...I am not your damned freeway and I am not a damned vending machine. I usually don't answer trade stuff and if I get whispered I give no response. Idk...maybe it's just because EVERYWHERE you go...no matter if your in a fight and are ALMOST DEAD...some damned fool is whispering about a freakin' portal or how they want 7 stacks of food and water! Ack! It's like...leave me alone...if you want to zip to one place or another without having to ride there...delete your character and make a mage. There. That's all.

No...it's not.

Shatt...you walk 10 paces to pick a freaking portal. Do it. AT LEAST one of us sent you somewhere that you can set your hearthstone so you can leave us alone and get a portal yourself.

That is all.

I try to have fun with Ports...I thank them for flying Toad Air and warn the lowbies to not go outside Shatt, unless they want to die. The going rate is 1g for ports to Shatt. I don't have a problem sending under 58s to Shatt either, as my alt needed to level up his enchanting and Scryers were next on the trainers list...cost me 3g's and about an hour to get another mage to port me tho...

I've never really bothered with the money aspect of Portals. After I read this thread i thought I should make more of an effort in supplying portals and subsequently announced to the world that I was giving out portals to anywhere and only accepting tips.

You'll eb surprised how much people are willing to pay. Last night alone I portalled a fair few people, with tips ranging from zero to 5g. someone even tipped me 4g to get a portal to Darnassus!

Have to say I have fun giving out portals, people really appreciate Mages more when they make the 1st move, who cares about having to pay for the reageents yourself, its not that much. and if you get a grumpy customer with no tip, then hey, instead of shattrath you send him to the Exodar. Who said Mages dont have a sense of humour!?!?

Maybe a bit not on the subject but anyway. This thread reminded me on a trick a friend of me pulled once in a 25man raid.
It was his time to make the portal this time and he made one to SilverMoon City. All of those 25 idiots walked in... For some reason there followed a lot of shouting...

My mage isn't high enough yet to make ports to Shatt, but I understand the usefulness of havivng it as our hearth.

I normally have one of the three 70 mages in my guild port my alts, but one time I wanted to set my lock's hearth to Shatt when he was level 30 and no guild mages were on, so I had to search for a mage. One whispered me and mentioned that 30 was low to go to Outland and that I would be missing the experience. That was where I mentioned that I already had a 70 and an alt over 60 so I hadn't missed the experience of 12 minute flights and massive amounts of walking. Needless to say, he understood and ported me :)

I don't really care what level they are when I port them to Shatt...I always tell them that they should stay in the city...if they leave and die, oh well...the only thing is that it will cost them. I paid a mage 5g for a port to Shatt when I was on my alts. I realize that it's a pain in the *** to meet up with someone to port them when your busy doing your own thing. So...since I've ported people and they've never given me so much a a replacement runestone, I charge. 2g for SW, DARN, IF, EXODUS...4g for SHATT. If I'm not in a major city and have to ride to meet you...I tack on a gold more for each. They don't like it, they can try to find another mage. I didn't become a mage to be anyone's ride anywhere or anyone's cheap chef. Only exception is my husband and my guildies. Oh and...I love it when the lowbies don't listen and LEAVE Shatt...LOL...then they are whispering me for help...I'm like, "I told you to stay inside...but I can help you...for a price...

Muah, ha, ha!

I don't use trade chat to ask for a portal.. I use general, or even /say.

But then, I've only done it twice. After that, it's either my hearthstone, or finding someone who'll let me group with them for a minute while I hop into RFC.

Paid mages to put up ports to Silvermoon and TB instead of Shatt? Check.
Paid mages to put up ports to Silvermoon or Undercity instead of tables? Check.
Paid locks to put up rituals of doom instead of soulwells? Check.
Paid locks to throw up their summons so someone pops off the edge of a cliff over Gruul's Lair? Check.
Paid the shammy to only drop Wrath of Air when the main tank stole my Windfury on the melee-only mobs in Kara? Check.

AHA!

a while back a mage guildie of mine was leading a group into slabs and was being pestered by a another rogue in the group to put up the table, put up the table, put up the table. The mage had already said that he already had a lot of summoned manna biscuits on him and was gonna provide everyone with loads. But this fellow hadnt listened. My guildie friend mage whispers us all not to click the portal he's gonna summon.

So he made a portal to exodar which the rogue, in his hurry, clicked as soon as he saw it.

then my guildie kicked him and invited a warlock standing outside.

you'd think the different portal animation woulda queued the fellow in. Or the mages spellcast saying "PORTAL EXODAR". or wait ive had addons to see the spellcast, can you see friendly spellcast names now without addons?

cause if you can this fellow was a real moron

Ok, maybe it's me, but I really don't understand what all the fuss is about.

I don't see the big deal in making ports for people for the destination of their choice. Why would you port someone to Shatt if they asked for IF? The rune costs the same no matter where they go. I've never had a problem getting paid to do a port, and if I don't, who cares? It's only 18s, and I'm not doing so many of them that it's gonna break the bank.

As for the food/water requests, just the other night, I made 5g for 10 stacks of water. I don't know why, and I really hope this person wasn't planning on logging out anytime soon, but hey, his choice!

I've been getting alot more /w's to make ports.... I'm guessing because the requests in trade or general are ignored more often than not. If the tell is rude, then I may ignore it, but I usually say "sure" and invite them to a group. I get a couple gold (enough for another 1/2 stack of runes) and I'm on my way. It takes 20 seconds, and it's basically free money.

Like I said, maybe it's just me.
