Feint. Does it have any affect on PvP?Follow

I've noticed that I lose targeting on Hunters when they Feign Death. And I was surprised to find out that Distract actually worked on players.

Does Feint have any use in PvP?

No. Threat drops are only useful in PvE.

Fixed. There are maybe two exceptions.

Making a talent to allow Feint the ability to have your target untarget you would be ******* hot.

It has uses in PvP.
If you use it against someone they'll laugh to death.
That means a win in my books!

I had a Prot warrior trying to tank me (as well a few of my guildies) in EotS the other day, it was funny as hell having a warrior stack sunders on a mage, rogue, and resto druid ( who almost never had to go into bear form during the match).

What was really sad though, is that I accidentally hit him with feint for no reason (other than it was right next to EA, yeah, I'm a clicker for some of my less used skills) and I felt incredibly stupid.

EDIT: Finished the story

About the only useful thing that can come from using it is a weapon proc, i'm pretty sure they still trigger on Feint.

It may also cause a pet to untarget you, at least for a second. I'm not sure on that one, but it comes to mind for some reason.

Funny story about Feign Death.

My warrior friend was being camped in Felwood by an Orc hunter and a Warlock. I came in from the north and a buddy of ours came in from Ashenvale. When we were all in position my friend rezzed and charged the orc, my hunter friend went after the pet and I took the warlock. Clothie was short work and then I turned on the hunter. He feigned death which dropped targeting, but his pet was still there. We all kind of scratched our head for a second then we just killed the pet and then waited for him to pop back up to kill him.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have FD set on a macro to dismiss your pet if you use it in a PvP setting since anytime you die your pet goes away?

Hunters can't dismiss their pets while in combat (or while feigned).

Ah...I see. Was a fun kill anyway.

They can't actively dismiss they can do a distance dismiss where they leave their pet far away and run away, the pet will be dismissed after a distance.

You can right click the Hunter... and continue to beat on him, even if he is FD.

Well they do have an ability called "dismiss pet". it has a cast time though, so macroing it to FD would be retarded. If its even usable in combat i dont know.

Good to know. It all just caught us by surprise, so I didn't think of that.

Never leveled a hunter so I didn't know that dismiss had a cast time. Another good point then.
