Hi there. I have read several times how much fun some people have with AOE grinding and I decided to give it a try. For the first 14 or even up to 16 levels I really had a hard time getting into this new mage. She is a dranei mage, btw.
I was duoing stuff with a new alt of a friend's some of the time, but we are both casual players and if he had to go stir the big pot of spaghetti sauce on his stove, I'd be dead before he could get back. I have always really hated to die.
Anyway, after leaving her alone for a while I remembered I'd started her based on wanting to try out aoe grinding and so I logged onto her one night when I could not sleep. I decided to just go out and give it a try with the first group of mobs that were feasibly close together. Wow! I was hooked immediately. I was only killing 3 at a time and I was having some mighty close calls pretty much every time, but I loved it.
So for the last couple of weeks, I've been letting her rest in between and then going out again just for a quick level every now and then. Today she is 20 and she has died plenty of times, but somehow I have gotten over hating that so much. For the tiny amounts of time that I've played a level is great and has been a fantastic break from grinding on my rogue, which of course gets boring.
So I wanted to let y'all know and thank-you all for the great info I've found on here as I've come looking with specific questions about what I'm trying to do! It has been great to be able to come and learn from others and not just from my own mistakes!
