Getting your mitts on Kara lootFollow

So I've been running kara with my guild for about two months now, each time we'd down curator and stop there, since most of the players who are geared well enough to help us not-so-well geared players...choose not to.

Thing is, after all the time I've spent running through kara, all the bosses I've yet to down, I still haven't had anything drop for me (being one of two rogues in the group, the other already epic'd out, this is really starting to irk me.)

So anyway, I'm just curious, bout how long did ya'll have to play around in kara to start getting loot? So far the only rogue drops I have seen are the Shoulderpads from the Chess Event but the other rogue decided to replace his last piece of gear with all the DKP he had amassed (and myself having just recently joined the guild at that time, had very little to spend).

My real problem is that the better equipped players are trying to move onto SSC/TK leaving me in the dust, I'm thinking of finding myself a new guild if this doesn't work out so I really need to have an idea as to how much longer I should try to make this work.

As per our guild, we don't use dkp in kara, it's free roll if you need it. Why use dkp in 10 man raid? Sometimes blizzard's stupid loot drop system just don't make any sense, I got my bracer, glove, MH fist in my first run. Then I raid for 1-2 more months to get another drop, and half year to get spiteblade drop. Cloak never drop for me in my whole kara life.

Really, it's by luck, however, with the badges dropped in kara, you can still upgrade (if you get full clear every week) using badges. Badges cloak, bracer, boot are the upgrades you can look forward to.

I can understand your pain, your another rogue (if same group in same run) should spare a thought and let you upgrade if both of you need, this is how we helping each other.

PvP for your weapons and gear if you have that much time on your hands, if not run Heroics and you should be ok for the first fight in TK (Void Reaver is a joke) and for the first few parts of SSC. Kara is overrated with how the PvP and Heroics are turning out.

I really doubt your guild is going to stop running Kara just because they are progressing on to SSC/TK. And I really doubt your guild can just blow through SSC/TK so you still have time to amass respectable gear from outside of Kara. Look through the loots and establish a plan of action for your loot getting. Like say you have a really bad belt, make it a plan to run heroic UB/Slave Pens for either belt, etc.

If that really is the reason then those players can go *&@# themselves for future content.

the first week in my current guild i attuned myself too kara, for the last 4 month i have ran kara every week. we have 2 groups and i tend to swap between the 2 as the other rogues in my guild aren't as reliable as me and i go with whichever group need the dps most. in the 4 months of raiding i can honestly say getting loot is a matter of luck. example the shoulders from the Chest event have dropped 3 time in the last 4 months twice while i was in the other group and the one time it dropped for me a druid out rolled me, so that item is still on my wish list. todays raid i got very lucky i picked up glove from attunmen, also got glove from trash, braces off maiden, shade dropped his neck(replaced it with vile intent after the raid) and prince dropped his dagger which i already had. 5 peices for rogues in one run and i was the only rogue, if it had been my first run at kara i'd of assumed i was dreaming.

Just keep runnin', that's my advice.

I had enough DKP to outbid about anyone , the problem was: nothing dropped. Just these last couple of Kara runs and things are dropping for me, the best part being I'm getting them for hardly nothing.

Don't give up... yet, haha.

got a malch and a ripper for funsies

but never saw worgen claw drop... nor the MH fist, or the poison trinket

every rogue has luck with some things, and not so much with others

for example,,, pre bc, i was in mc for about a year

had the dkp and the ********** yall class leader trump carD" on the only part of NS i REALLY wanted

the pants!

i NEVER saw them drop... not once

they dropped every time i missed magmadar, except once... 5 rogues in my guild had em besides my lack of them

hows that for luck?

(at least i got a strikers mark lol, [still quite the looker)

I was both very lucky and very unlucky. My first time in Kara (just ******* around with a few friends, back when nobody had even cleared Mag yet), I got an Emerald ripper. We never ran it again after that, as people were expecting it to be like UBRS and sleep through the fights (only downed Attument and Moroes). A few weeks later, I joined a raiding guild. It took me a full month to get another upgrade (Girdle of Treachery), and another month after that before I saw another one. Then I ended up getting 2-3 pieces every time we cleared it.

I just now got the last item I wanted out of Kara, the bow off prince. If you've only been running it a couple weeks, I'd say just be patient, it takes time. From what you've said, it seems like your guild is full of douches and using DKP in Kara is just dumb. If you're good, you can probably find a spot in a better guild that's already working on SSC/TK and you can gear up on Kara badge runs quickly.

there aren't even Kara guilds on my server any more. we just pug it like its a regular instance. Recently I saw the skulkers greeves drop. This feral druid in the pug was like, "I need the hit rating" so he rolled and won. Mind you this is the same druid that rolled on edwalkers, cloak from aran, worgan claw(even though he had mythril chain of heroism), and just about every other dps piece I could want from Kara. Im so happy kara is just a badge farm for me now. All my gear is waiting for me in SSC/TK. I really dont miss the days of "raiding" Kara. Even Mag/Gruul are too easy.

still never seen poison vial. and I really want that. at least till I get warp spring coil.
