Is this a viable arena talent build?Follow

I just switched my talent build to be more viable in the arena scene. I chose this build based on pure DPS. As I have seen arenas to go so far, most matchs dont go over 5 min so its all about DPS. I have the Spellfire, Vindicator, and season 1 gear sets. My fire damage is about 950 with about 9k hp and 9.5k mana. I havent seen this build too often in the chats so Id like to know if people have tried this especially in the arena scene.

Until Ice Block becomes trainable, frost will remain the most effective arena build. That said, the most noticable problem with the tree you linked is its devotion to talents that improve fireball. While fireball is a great PvE spell, its casting time is far too long to be effective against experienced arena players and may often leave you vulnerable while trying to cast it. I would drop the 5 points in Improved Fireball and 4 points in Empowered Fireball in favor of Combustion, Blast Wave, Blazing Speed, Improved Scorch, and the last points in Molten Fury and Improved Fireblast. The arcane aspect of the build seems reasonable, though I would probably not choose the points in Arcane Fortitude and Magic Absorption. To answer your question, if you make these changes the resulting build will be competitive, but may hinder you at the higher end of play due to the resilience that most veteran players have and the natural weakening of the PoM-Pyro combo as a result. I have posted the build below with the noted changes. Hope this helps.

imo - no! you loose too much control and the extra DPS from WE alone outweighs pom pyro. A major point is that your survivabilty is very low as well so you might not even survive to the point where a pom pyro can be used with succes.

Ok, I definitely see both your points. I guess Ill have to switch back to frost again seeing as thats the most viable arena spec. Then Id have to ask if this next build will be a good arena build. Thanks everybody for all your inputs.
