I am currently marks and getting no Legacy/Wolfslayer love in kara. Naturally that spiffy arena ax has started calling my name. Now I know winning or being effective wouldn't matter for it because it doesn't require a personal rating.

However, there are some very nice pieces that require ratings of around 1800ish such as the rifle, chest piece etc (correct me if I am wrong).

With that in mind I'd like input on what other classes would be good partners for me in 2v2, 3v3, and even 5v5. I had a 2v2 with a rogue and I did not do very well, but I got enough for my merciless chest piece.

Links to armory and my talent build in case armory farts.

Sorry for the long post but any advice will be appreciated.

Rifle requires a 1850 personal rating and the chest piece does not require any rating.

I'm not an Arena Expert myself, but when I was doing 2v2 with a rogue, I just couldn't get past the 1600 rating. My current partner is an MS warrior and we are doing really well. Although we only play 10 games a week, we usually win them all easily. I've heard that Hunter/Priest Viper/mana burn combo works well, but that's just my 2 coppers.

As for 3v3 and 5v5, I don't do all that well in them.

Pairing up with a healer in 2v2 can be a nice idea, but it is not mandatory.
My best 2v2 experiences are with a priest (though he has some resilence gear making him harder to kill, without resilence your partner will go down really fast).

For 3v3 or 5v5 there are a ton of good combos.
For 3v3 I'd run with a healer and CC/DD class such as mage or warlock. My standard 3v3 is with a Disc/Shadow priest (silence FTW), affliction warlock and my SV hunter. The warlock and me are usually PvE specced but we still manage a rating around 1550 (yes not great, but the points for those nice purples still come, though at a slower pace).

In my realmpool 2v2 is played very much which leads to really long queue times (~10-15minutes) thus I mainly play 3v3 or 5v5 where queue times are rather short (~1-2minutes). If you want to do your 10 games per week, I'd just go for 10 3v3 games. Those can be done in under an hour and it is easier to coordinate 3 persons than 5.

Thanks for the tips.

I am very happy to find out the chest piece doesn't require a rating. My guild isn't doing Mag so that would be a nice t4 substitute for me.
