Reckoning is bad for anything from heroics on for tanking. It's the same reason you only want the tank in front of a boss. When a boss parries an attack it will reset his attack timer and the tank can take two large hits closer then what would happen if the tank is the only person in front of the boss. Reckoning causes the problem also as it generates free swings which the boss can parry.

Even with Light's Grace proc a holy paladin will have a hard time keeping a tank up in this type of circumstance.

Well the threat of this happening is reduced somewhat by the introduction of Expertise rating. It isn't as bas as it was pre-patch, so Parries are a bit less of an issue than they were.

Not saying that it's not an issue, just that there's a much better way to combat the issue.

Not to nit-pick dilbrt, (oh wait, I am) but lights grace IS a proc if you were stupid enough to put 1/3 or 2/3 points into it. I know most people shouldn't, but you get retarded specs out there...

So besides reckoning/not reckoning, what other talents are horrible choices?

blessed life is awesome. If you cant see the awesomeness in it for PvP you need to rethink it.

Ill give you a hint: Think about how resilience works.

I think there's now a consensus on there not being a consensus on talents. I give up on this thread.

Stupid bliz and their making at least one situation in which a talent may be useful.

I disagree with purifying power as 10% reduced mana cost for consecration and cleanse and 20% crit on exorcism and holy wrath can be big in both pve and pvp.

Granted currently I only have one point in this but for pvp arena we have had time where a melee based team tries to take out the healers on my team and ignored the consecrate around me.

From past experience though as a raider/pvp I have most recently dropped the improved lay on hands and unyielding faith. The second mainly to make sure I do get feared in arena. Since if the other team doesn't follow me to where I run off it will put me out of combat so I can resurrect a fallen teammate in Arena.
