Does anyone else find it frustrating that outside of 10-25 man raids and pvp there are no epic shoulders or chests for hunters?

also I find myself wishing that Survival had its own set, sort of the way shamans get one set per spec.

well there area chest atleast

Thick Netherscale Breastplate
http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?source=live;witem=29514

and go LW and there will be more to choose from, doubt we are the most overlooked class in that regard

and considering how easy pvp rewards are to get nowdays those shouldnt be excluded.
then kara is only 10man and treated like any onther instance basicly. atleast on my server kara is frequently pugged so beastmaw shoulders shouldnt be to har to get either

I find it frustrating that the T4 set uh... sucks... The shoulders don't have any Agi, and the set bonuses really really blow. 5% reduced chance that FD will be resisted? whatever. 27 mana off of multi shot? Not even a skill that I use a lot.

I'm just going to hold on to my chestpiece from BM until Magtheridon, and I'm working on the S1 shoulders until I get the Beastmaw shoulders, just to see how I like them for PvE. I'll at least keep them for PvP.

Wait... I'm talking about raiding gear. Eh. Even with Raiding gear, it's hard to find a good chest piece, and really awesome shoulders. Hell, even though the barbaric Legstraps are available with heroics, I used the level 66 BoP blue pants (already forget the name) until I got my T4 pants

You mean the Scaled Grieves of Patience.

I still got em :)

Oh, I meant the BoE ones... They're not even as good as the scaled grieves. Those things never dropped for me, so I ended up buying my pants on the AH.

I saved up my arena points from season 2 and bought a Vengeful Gladiator's chest piece the day 2.3 went live. Very, very good piece for PvE until you get up to T5+. For shoulders, I've got the Beastmaw Pauldrons, but if I'm not mistaken, they were a decrease in Agility from my Beast Lord Pauldrons for the sake of a reasonable boost in some other areas. Legs and bracers can be had from Badges of Justice; I upgraded my legs first (Beast Lord Leggings -> Shifting Camouflage Pants ftw!!) and then upgraded my bracers after...even still, in that case it turned out to be a break even for Agility for the sake of a bit of extra Sta and a good chunk of Int. I got the epic gloves from Heroic Mech which make the epic Heroic Badge gloves a less than appealling upgrade considering their cost.

So ya, Hunters get the shaft in the chest/shoulder department outside of raids/PvP, but we get lots of other sweet little goodies.

I also agree that SV Hunters get the shaft all around. I've upgraded from a lot of blues to a lot of purples over the last little while, and my Agility has actually gone down from what it was. If I could start getting pieces that offered +10 (or more) agility over the piece I was upgrading, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. As it is, it seems almost every new piece of gear I get is a break even or slight drop in Agility for the sake of other stats that are of dubious benefit. My unbuffed Agility is at 666 right now, and reviewing the upgrade options available to me, there's really not a lot. I'm kind of lucky in the sense that when I first started getting into Kara with our guild, we had 2 Hunters running with us using uncommon or rare ranged weapons. We just got our other SV Hunter a Steelhawk Crossbow this last run, so when we get to downing Prince, I won't feel so bad for rolling on a certain bow if it should happen to drop.....

You'll have better luck waiting on the Ranger General Chestpiece off Hydross then T4. Most guilds do him once to say they killed him, hes a bit of a pain. Since theres no more requirements to enter SSC or TE you'll probably go straight to there.

Well, if that's the way it goes, I'd take that one, too. I dunno if it's too ambitious of my guild, but they plan on taking down Gruul and Mag in one night. I think It might be possible. We're getting much better at Gruul. We can 1-shot High King, and do Gruul within the first few shots. Once we start 1 shotting him, we head over to Mag in the same night.

Mag is a ***** to say the least. My guild is in ssc, downed hydross, lurker, and leo to 1%, and we have never downed mag. It takes alot of coordination and everyone has to be at the right place at the right time. Although ive seen the ranger general drop twice, i passed to the other 2 hunters because we have a system to not bid against each other, and i havnt seen it drop for 3 months now that it is my turn :(

my old guild used to do mag and gruul in one evening. When you get the hang of mag he's actually rather "easy", so yes - it's doable, easily so.

Of course. Once you got the fight straight, neither Gruul nor Mag need much time to complete.
Our first raid evening every week is usually Gruul, Mag and Voidreaver. Takes about 3-3.5hours with 15min break between every instance. The other one or two nights (depending on how many sign up for the raid) are progression raids in either SSC or TK. Once we get Alar down (from which we are not far apart I expect) we'll likely do him on our 1st night also.
