Huge noob, bear with me...Follow

I'm new to WoW and I just started a priest and I'm planning to make it Holy.

Question: When I go to my trainer to learn new spells/etc, do I only pick out the ones that are holy or do I just buy everything that is avaliable?

This is probably the dumbest question ever but I really have no idea. :P
Thank you

You can train new spells at every even numbered level (and level 65 as well, I think...there were a few extras there on my mage at 66)...and train all the spells availible, what makes you a "Holy Priest" is the talent points you can start spending at level 10.

You get new spells at even-numbered levels up until level 60. Past level 60 you get new spells at every level. Furthermore, each level past level 9 will grant you a talent point to spend in your talent trees.

Welcome to the game. Hope you enjoy your stay.. it'll be a long one. Smiley: sly

Since you are new to wow i'm gonna throw you a suggestion. First you can level what ever spec you want. But it is much easier to level as shadow spec, esspecially level 40+. Just something to think about. You can still heal quite well as a shadow priest.

So true. I've read the FAQ's on here and they are really general (The pally forum here is really good though....) so please feel free to post questions!

I have a lvl 61 shadow priest (putting the majority of your talents into a tree basically makes you that spec). Since hitting lvl 60 and moving to Outlands I have a second set of gear for healing, but still have an easy time healing. When you are playing solo though, it is so much easier to dps (damage per second) when you are shadow spec. Most people I talk to say that if you are going to go Holy, wait till lvl 70, get some gear and then convert.

Have fun!

Yes you want to train all your spells. As most suggested, shadow is the easiest route to go with leveling but this doesn't mean you should only train shadow spells. Even shadowpriests end up healing a decent amount so yes, buy everything your trainer has to offer.
