New Cat form? (Tauren?)Follow

#1 Dec 31 2007 at 7:00 PM Rating: Decent
Here is a little gem I found on google connecting to the O-Boards.

Who Ever made this was amazing, I would really like to see this implemented (sp?) into the game :P

Although, if they did this for Taurens then they would have to change Night Elf forms too... :D

Discuss? :P

This one looks much better.

I'm not the artist/author, but these forms just look awesome.

Frankly, an open mouth in combat does make the cat look more intimidating. So why can't Blizz give us the option of opening and closing the mouth as we please? Or make the mouth open in combat and close when out?

Like the diference between a standing animation and the animation if you right click (or choose to melee attack) an enemy from a distance, where they get into that pose? Makes sense to me.

I actually find the Tauren catform to be better than the Night Elf cat form. It's far more intimidating. I just wish he'd close his mouth from time to time. I like the coloring, mane, and horns a lot better.

Also, both linked cat form alterations have no horns. That's a shame, the horns are awesome. The first is hideous, and far worse than the original. The second is alright, except why fangs instead of horns? I'd prefer the horns by far. It seems too... generic.

Yeah i reckon Blizz should make a few mor animations to the forms...Bear form looks cool and powerful but the cat attacks it looks like its giving a high five, i rekon the usual attack should have an added jump and attack like the real cats would, to make it look more fast and vicous.

zomg im having lion king flashbacks.....tauren cat form in there looks like Scar!!, now we just need to add some glowy green eyes, a nasty scar running over one eye, and his lovably cynical attitude lol Druids need to have another form. As a specialized shapeshifter class i feel there isnt enough class mimicry in just bear moonkin and cat forms, they need to mimic hunters too, with Dryad form. I dont know where in talents it would fit, but ive been thinking for a while now that 3 talent trees, while very balanced, would get stale at some point and they would throw in a fourth for all classes, but idk how or if it would happen, just speculating :P

Ugh, I cannot even play Tauren Druids because of how much I hate their forms. Close your mouth, cut off your horns and be a less ugly color. >.<;;

I really like both of the graphics. The first reminds me of Red XIII from FFVII. If they were to do something like that, then the NE's would HAVE to have a make-over.

Although, I am one of the person that wishes Blizz would re-do all of the old races with their newer techniques. I mean, Gnomes have hips that go through their cloaks...

Blizz has gotten way better at graphics design, I wish they would use it for the old content just as much as new.

[EDIT]

And change that fugly Walrus!

(And NE's shouldn't have a Cheetah travel form... At least not a lightly colored one. They should just look like the Nightsabers from the starting area.)

I like both. The first one seems more personable. But I agree, the open mouth in both bear and cat make them look really "dumpy" to me. I don't mind an open mouth, but make it look mean/intimidating for christ's sake! Cat form for Tauren looks like it's just drooling, as if to say "Hallo thar, I has the IQ of butter!" Who's scared of that?

The first one might be a little much, I don't think Blizz wanted to make the different forms too "out there". One thing I'll add is that I always thought there should be a visual difference between Dire Bear and Bear form, and there just isn't. The second example would fix this if it was used for just Dire Bear form.

Good posts!

I like the tauren cat form as is - it fits the race. Just as the NE cat form does them. If they ever lose the horns, I'll be one sad puppy.

However, I see no reason why they cannot close the mouth. I feel like a goof, sitting on the zeppelin and drooling into the wind. Am I just hoping a bird will fly in there? I have no idea.

Having the mouth open while 'in combat', and closed otherwise, would be way beyond awesome.

those are lovely.

He is right. Blizz has, since wows initial release, gotten better techniques and skills for models. They should work a little bit on the old class models. small step by step.

Idea!! -light bulb animation-

With all characters, they will stand with their weapons sheathed when out of combat (unless you press z blah blah). So why not do the same. Normally the druids jaws would be clamped shut, allowing for a whole host of expressions (lock jaw for starters) and as soon as you enter combat, press z, or 'unsheath' your jaw the mouth pops open!!

Sound good??
