That and you just had a sh*tty rogue. No matter how well you play your class, a prot warrior should not out-DPS a rogue. That's what they do, damage. That's it. Heh.

Yes, the rogue was absolutely terrible. Don't let his terribleness distract you from my point though: WOW is filled horrible player, so you don't need to be a master of min/maxing to be better than 80% of them.

This gets less true as you move away from the easymode non-heroic 70 instances and get into the truly challenging content. But as far as PUG nonheroics? The bar isn't exactly high...

But they don't.

Without reaching into the area of off-tanking which, to be perfectly honest, shouldn't be required or necessary in heroics (CC > OT), DPS Warriors bring... what? A shout and 4% damage increase on mobs not immune to bleeds if they're Arms.

The requirements for the guilds on my server who are doing T5 progression is 1600 AP 30% crit and 10% to hit for D/w. 1700 AP 30% crit and 9% hit for 2h. Prot req's are 35% dodge/parry, 400+ SBV, 490+ def, 15k hp, 15k armor, preferred if they have resist sets too.

sounds like you need T5 in the first place to be in that guild...

not at all. i nearly have these stats for dps and i don't even have t4 gear, just some mostly blues and a few kara non-set epics.
