I have a new 70 frost mage, but I have decent gear. Currently at 8k hp and mana, 615 frost bonus damage and about 13-15% crit. My res is pretty low, due to no pvp gear yet. But I have been doing 2v2 arena with a Rogue in all S2 with other epics as well. He is good to say the least. But in almost every match, I get completely shut out. I usually don't get to do any damage at all and I get killed very quick. Unless the team does not have a Hunter on it. I loose all matches vs Hunter and 'fill in the blank' , but every match without hunters, and sometimes locks, we win. My question is how come I keep gettin pwnt. In BGs I usually do top 3-5 damage, HKs and KBs. It seems the problems is mostly always hunters. Do mages always have problems with hunters in arena or is it just me? I have heard that we do better in 3v3 and 5v5. Do we just suck in 2v2? Please help with advice, it is quit frustrating. Thank you.

I had the same problem when i started my post (arena stuff...) the simple answer is get more resil, and hp, get a couple if not all of s1 gear. I used to die from any class if they focused me now... not so much, if its mm hunters then try to dps them down with your m8, if it is bm , easy way is to sit it out in ice block while your mate is in stealth then come out and kill the hunter.
I run around with a rogue too, he is med decently geared but can put up a fight. Good thing to use is ice block so they switch focus and then pop out of it, sometimes they will sust go for your m8 and let you dps them down (since he is better gear he should stand it) If they go back just burn instants and dps while runnnig away letting your rogue do the most dps.
Elemental is your friend , use his novas defencively as well as offensively.
We usually go for Hunter or Lock first even if there is a healer present, if you can cc them.
(yeah i know im low rating but we are bounsing up and down, maybe my advise wont work since i dont know that much)
(Happy new year, spelling is probably shot but the new year allows me to have some at the start of it :P)
(my mage does not have great gear but with 8.9-9k hp atm and 171 resil you can still tell the difference between dieng in 4 seconds or die-ing[:P forgot how to spell] in couple of minutes of being focused then being given up and going for your bud.I also have 515 if im not mistaken crit and only about 10% crit, shatter helps)
