My guilds best healer for raids uses this build.

I was just wondering in an offhand way what others would advise.

Her skills are fantastic. Her itemization moving forward [already great].

What exactly is the point in taking divine spirit, but not improved divine spirit?

And lol@holy nova.

Holy Concentration will give you more mana then 2 points in Mental Strength. Holy reach and Prayer of Healing won't get used enough in raids to make them worth while. the rest look fine, just redistribute a few of his points and he is the cookie cutter build from the sticky here.

Actually, Mundane, the Healing Prayers talent affects PoM, which gets used a huge amount in raids. And Prayer of Healing does see usage in raids. So it's not a bad choice at all.

I'd fill out Divine Fury, move the two points from Mental Strength to Improved DS, and sacrifice one point in Holy Spec and all of Holy Reach to max Holy Conc. Indirectly, this means that you only get two points in Empowered Healing, but your PoM has 30% off (counting MA).

Wow, ty. I need glasses, never realized that it was used for prayer of mending also. I might need to look into that, I use that a lot :). Ty for pointing that out.

I read the fine print and saw that as well. Since POM is always going, I find this talent to be very useful.

http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/priest/talents.html?5042000130502100000000234031032302150501030000000000000000000000

ah i might want to give the stats.

223 stam
447 intel
337 spirit

1318 bonus healing
314 mana regen [157 while casting]

10.86% crit for holy.

9407 mana

She's ussually a mage but she's found that she prefers healing, she's raided with this char quite a bit but iam not sure just how much.

Mental Agility does the same thing as Healing Prayers, and if I'm not mistaken they don't stack. In other words, Healing Prayers is a waste of 2 points. I might be wrong about this, though, so please correct me if I am.
Likewise, Holy Reach gets pretty much no use and could be better spend elsewhere

Holy Concentration is very powerful because it keeps you outside the 5SR - get a proc off that followed by Inner Focus and you can potentially spend 10-15 seconds at fill spirit regen, which is formidable even if you stack mp5.

5/5 Divine Fury is really important for any healer.
Holy Nova and Lightwell are mostly wasted points. They are of very little help while healing a raid, and should probably be taken in favor of something more powerful.

Mental Strength is, again, mostly wasted. The minor mana boost won't be worth as much as moving those points into Improved DS for a raid-wide boost to casters and healers.
Silent Resolve doesn't do much except for really bad PuGs, the kind that you should leave right away >.> If the healer has aggro and Fade can't take care of it, then something's very wrong. The points would probably be better if they were shifted into Improved Shield.

Alternative, drop everything beyond Mental Agility and spend those points on maxing Empowered Healing and CoH instead. This kind of build is more useful once you start running ZA, TK, and SSC, since Kara and Gruul don't really have a lot for raid-wide AoE damage. Keeping one ImpDS priest is good, though.

that's the most pure PvE raid healing build you can make. if you have another priest in your raid, have him/her spec DS & imp DS. then this priest could take 5/5 empowered healing instead.

The only thing I'd say about that build is on the Disc. side take the points out of Imp. Shield. Two reasons:

1) The talent sucks in general (at least PvE wise).
2) It sounds like you are trying to progress and believe me you will never use shield in a raid.

I'd switch those points over to Silent Resolve.

Hi, first time poster long time reader here.

I'll be doing my first kara run on friday for which i'm planning to respec. I really like the build you've posted here but I was wondering if it would alright to switch a few of the points around to make the solo grind a little more tolerable.

These are my changes: http://www.wow-europe.com/en/info/basics/talents/priest/talents.html?5042000130500120000000234050020322152500020000000000000000000000

I've taken all points out of Holy Concentration. How important is that?

Ok? or will I be seriously hurting my capabilities as a healer?

Taking points out of Inspiration and Holy Concentration for Searing Light and SoL are big mistakes for raiding. Holy Concentration is extremely powerful combined with Inner Focus and cancel-casting because it keeps you at full spirit regen for 10-15 seconds, and max rank of Inspiration is very helpful (well, unless you've got a druid tank at max armor, but that's unlikely to happen in Kara). However, if you're just entering Kara, you should still be okay, but by the time you hit Prince, you'll probably want those points in.

That build is fine for kara. The sacrifices you made for some farming-smite damage won't hurt you too much in your raiding.
