Agility *****....Follow

Hi, I'm new to the alla wow forums (new to posting anyway). I picked up WoW+BC about a month ago and I've really enjoyed it. I jumped at a hunter right away and tried several races, I stuck with BE because it felt right. From the beginning i've built my hunter the way i felt without doing what was the norm. Around lv 35 i started cruising the forums to see what worked for other people and noticed that i seem to be way off track of the norm, lol. I've spec'd MM with a heavy emphasis(spelling?) on AGI+. I love MM and have been having a blast with it and i've gotten my agi to approx 250. My gear is sorta kick *** but nothing crazy, i don't have the time to mass farm gear but have been lucky enough to have a few guild mates run me through an instance or two. I've checked a ton of other hunters in the armory and couldn't find anyone thats gone nuts like myself. most at my lv or even some 10 lvs above me haven't put as much time into agi as me and their dps and crit tooltips are a lot lower. I'm aware of my weakness' now with the path i've gone (pet holds less aggro, less HP and Melee dmg) but i've overcome these things. What i'm trying to ask in a very long winded way is if i don't see many hunters on my path because it creates problems in the future or if it's a mistake neglecting other stats? This is my first WoW char and i'm still a little noobish haha. Any advice is welcome.
P.S. this is my hunter http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Ravencrest&n=Isae

Nothing looks wrong to me! In fact, other than the fact that your HP is a bit low you're in good shape. =) If it works for you, I wouldn't worry too much.

Heck, maybe you'll end up going survival? I know I enjoyed marks a lot and went SV... found I loved it. I'd wait until 70, though; it's not that great for grinding!

Anyway, good luck with your toon... and let us know if you have any questions =)

well your on the right track stacking agi, thats true for all specs.
attack power gear will soon start to be easier to find and thats a good supstitute aswell. what you might want to think abot is mana tho, as just as dps more mana will help with effectivity while leveling.
stamina=not so important
strength=worthless

that said, at your level, well basicly all the way to 70 most ppl tend to not care to much about the gear(might be an explenation as to why other ppl have much less than you.

now why dont people care that much? well because it just doesnt matter that much for hunters, a hunter can level naked all the way to 70.

if you want to check out approx. how hunters tend to gear stat wise i would recomend checking out some lv70 armorys instead. sure wont be able to compare the numbers but it should give you an idea atleast.

Just had to take a poke at this. The strength part is true enough. Strength on any items on a Hunter would be punishable by gkick from me. But Stamina not being important? It is one of the greater parts of Survivability while questing solo. Not so much for yourself as for your pet.

Just like Attack Power, Stamina is transferred to the pet. While soloing/questing, your pet is your line of defense. It stands between you and pain. Stamina should of course never be needed over Agility, but it is on par with Intellect for Hunters.

So in short, anything of the Monkey coupled with of the Eagle should do fine.

Do you really mean Eagle? That's the Int/Sta enchant. It makes me sad to see hunters wearing Eagle stuff, especially when you can do Monkey/Falcon gear. Sure, Falcon (Agi/Int) is less common, but come to think of it, I don't see a whole lot of Eagle Mail, either.

Doh! Falcon. I keep confusing the two, since I never go for "of the ******" gear anymore, and haven't for ages. Thanks for correcting me on that one. It's probably because my mage is using some Eagle gear that I thought of it.

Gah! Critted by wall of text... You probably didn't mean it though.

I don't see anything wrong 'cept your build. You've gotten the first tiers right (however, since Imp. HM doesn't get the full AP bonus from HM, I'd advise you to spec Efficiency).

For the higher tiers however... you've specced Concussive Barrage. I believe this was only ever implemented so that it could proc the extra damage off Steady Shot every once in a while. That's an ability you get at level 62 (right..?) though, so it doesn't do you much good. The proc chance is too low to be useful in PvP.

You've also specced Combat Experience... Now, I understand you want to really max out your +AGI, but this is where you have to draw the line. 2%? With your agility that's like... +4-5 agi. That's not even half a DPS point.

Now, overall I'd suggest you go BM, but if you really like MM... This is the spec I'd go for at level 42, finishing at 70 (landing you with a fine instancing build for 70, given that you can Chain Trap without CD reducers).

Good luck anyhow, and happy new year!

At your level, It doesn't really matter very much. when I was that level I managed to make the entire tough scorpid set, because I thought it looked nice. While it has no +sta, I didn't really notice, and the agi certainly boosted my dps a lot.

When you get to higher levels you'll want to stack AP mostly, until you start getting epics. When you get to the point where you only need a few items from kara, you'll switch over to agi.

(that being said SV hunters stack AGI all the time)

I recommend rating buster as an addon to figure out what effect the stats actually have.

If you still can't get enough of agility when you're 70, I agree with the person who said you should try a survival spec.

It's not easy putting it all together, but it's rewarding when you can.

... then again by the time you're 70 blizzard may decide to change something again. I remember when people laughed at the idea of a Druid tank.

Just gear yourself in "of the monkey" and "of the falcon" gear or stuff with those stats (2 agi vs 1 sta and 1 int is about what you want with some more sta then int) you're on the right track towards awesome.

I personally like "of the Bandit" stuff myself. ^_^

We share too much in common with Rogues... at least a mispelling of our name is only synonymous with 'idiot', and not the more common mispelling of rogue that puts them on par with makeup...
