I am starting a new Tauren Resto Shammy, and I can't decide which proffesions would be the best choice:

1. Herbalism/Alchemy

2. Skinning/Leatherworking

3 Enchanting/???????

What's your opinion about these and is there an even better option? I would really like a skill that helps my build and allows me to make money fast.

P.S. Right now I am Herb/Alch

Herb/alch is what I use on my shaman. The tauren racial bonus for herb also make it a good choice for you. You can make a lot of money from herb, and alchemy is good for raiding or just to keep a few potions around for personal use.

Go Mining/Herbalism + skinning up til 30-40 then ditch one. By this time, you should have enough money to level whatever other profession you take up.

Another thought for you ;) (PS. Hybrids are certainly the hardest to decide on professions for i find - sooo many profs. are great for us ;) )

Enchanting/Herbalism while levelling (disenchant those nice quest rewards or old gear and enchant your own stuff with mediocre enchants while levelling to get an edge without spending huge amounts of gold.. sell excess ench. mats on the AH as well as your herbs for uber-gold)

Then when you are 60-70 or feel more need for pots and raids etc switch enchanting to alchemy and power-lvl it (one of easiest profs. to power-lvl is alchemy i think) so you can get the very nice alchemist-only trinket and have access to pots etc.

*disclaimer* if you join a good guild though you may find alchemy not so useful as other guildies will surely be happy to make pots from your herbs.

Grabbing 2 gathering proffesions would definitely be the most proffitable decition, but as I tend to say ( and my best friend too) you can NEVER go wrong with engineering (Well if you want a lot of money you do) and mining.

Its just such a fun proffession, and every single class (with some of them benefitting*spelling?* more than others) can have a great time using it.

I don't think engineering is great for a druid, but it is a cool prof. I don't think you can use any of the items while shifted.

I'm herb/alch with my resto shaman. I can't decide if I want to go elixir mastery or what. I'm at 375 alchemy now. That's such an easy prof to get to 375. I probably will go elixir mastery.
