Hey guys! As my guild is about to move into SSC/TK and finish up with Gruul's (just for gearing up the lesser-geared folks, like me), I've been contemplating changing builds.

The link in my armory means nothing, I'm spec'd elemental for farming at the moment...but my last resto build was this: [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/shaman/talents.html?0000000000000000000000000000000000000000055233051355313515321]Pretty much 61 points into resto[/link].

This may seem somewhat foolish, but we all know with little to no synergy between the trees, it makes at least some sense.

I was thinking a 0/7/54 build, to get Guardian Totems, but PvP is really not that big of a deal to me; I do it when I'm bored, but it's more raiding that I look forward to, and progression with my guild mates.

So, I thought of a 8/0/53 build, to get Elemental Warding. My only question now is, where should I put those last 5 points? I still do heroics, so the 3 points in Healing Grace, which would be next to useless in a 25 man, are still valuable. I see no reason to have more spell crit over some of the other talents, as that usually just means overheal. I'm not a pally! :P

Also...should I have Convection or Concussion in Elemental? Any thoughts on that would be nice too.

So, I beseech you, the shamans of Alla, to answer with your opinions. Thanks in advance! :)

Ancestral Healing works in conjunction with Tidal Mastery, however. If you're not getting Tidal Mastery, Ancestral Healing is gimped moreso.

Secondly, Improved Reincarnation helps raids and heroics alike for wipe recovery, or if you accidentally die during a bossfight.

Lastly, Totemic Focus is debated on ElitistJerks on how useful it is. It seems at first to be insignificant, but then shows to give a considerable amount of mana over long fights, but then stepping back again shows that percentage-wise, it's not much of a saving again.

I put the extra points into the healing crit because when i'm not casting chain heals i'm casting rank 1 healing wave on the tank trying to get ancestral healing to proc. Plus if I remember right, the crit counts for earthshield too, so that helps.

Valid points, all; thanks for the input! :)

I think the problem is that the resto tree is so bloated -- so many of the talents are valuable.

My basic question is if Elemental Warding is really necessary. How much, exactly, does that help you in raids, you think?

I never used elemental warding so I couldn't comment on how good it may or may not be comparative to the other talents. IMO that talent is mostly personal preference.
