Looking to become a mageFollow

Hey everyone.
I have a 55 feral druid and lately im a bit bored, predominately using 3 buttons (including pounce). And im looking for something that hits hard and is delicate to play, but if played right=pure ownage. Now this sounds like alot of classes, but mages seem to fit a bit better, and do they use only 3 buttons usually or is it quite alot to play them well?

And for specs im thinking frost, good damage and awesome control, seriously being kited so easily it seems is so infuriating. And frost also survives alot more than fire so i have heard and woud make sense as the only defense in fire is a devastaitng offense.

In Bgs i have just sat back a few times and watched this lousy gnome mage kicking our behinds, sitting back hurling bolts of ice, blinking away CoCing and it looks just awesome fun to play. My friend wants to lvl a warrior with my mage, and i want some advice whether to play a mage or keep with my druid, and advice with newbie mages.
Thanks

There is a bit of depth for the class, I do not believe there is the same depth that you have needing to go between many different forms and shape shifting with a druid, but it comes in different ways. Where a feral druid will assess and then pounce on their target a mage assesses and then takes control by dealing damage and generally helping focus fire other targets.

Frost is a very fun spec, none of the mage specs really come into their own until around level 25-30 when you can start dipping points into the talent tree that give nice bonuses (similar with many other classes as well, of course).

When raiding/instancing it really comes down to about 3 button presses:

1) Fireball/frostbolt
2) Polymorph
3) Scorch/Fireblast

You may use a counterspell here or there or whatever, but those are your main nukes and your cc that you will be using against mobs.
