Hey guys, and fellow druids.
I have a 55 feral druid at the moment and hes my first real character, but lately have been finding him boring...In PvE on the usual trash mobs, including pounce i pretty much hit 3 buttons, maybe 4 sometimes, mangle spam and then ferociuos bite for burst damage, as using the bleed effects is slower and gets me damaged more. Iits only on the elites and boss fights do i use all of the bleed effects to max my damage. In PvP, i dont get bored as its a rush i find to kill a smart opponent other than AI. This is all in cat, and in bear its only 3 main abilities, and i get an opponent down alot slower so i tend not to use bear when soloing.

Endgame to puts me off him even more, hearing about damned resto. Seriously i enjoy ripping people apart as an animal and being offensive (sorry to everyone that likes healing...) although it can be fun on the big fights keeping people alive its not for me. Arena, me and my friends have talked about a 3 v 3 team, (arms warrior, and frost mage) with c and dps theres lonly one spot left and thats damned healing as druid dps doesnt macth up with the solid dpsers usually.

Other thn these druids are awesome, very interesting with moonglade and there back story. Sorry it was a bit of a downer but if you can give me some hints to what to do, as a friend wants to re roll a warrior and im thinking a mage, to lvl together.
Thanks alot i promse i will be happier next time Cyas.

Don't worry bro. Your team might not want you for anything but resto but you could prolly find a 2v2 that lets you stay feral. Idk how you play but in 1v1 a druid is almost impossible to kill with maim n cyclone so if you find a healer with a lil cc (maybe another druid ;) u'll be a pretty good team. just hold in there it gets alot better!

hmm... i wouldn't use the term "smart opponent" very often... seams alot of my opponents dont use simple logic and are the kind that think a sentence is funny if it has swearing in it...

I can't speak to the PVP stuff, but for me with PVE the mid-late 50's were particularly painful. I don't think it would be much better with any class though. Druids have more interesting fights and more fighting options than most classes. I think the levels are just long and some of the zones are just no fun (EPL FTL).

I played with my alts a lot because I like to do that when I get bored and I've never been in a big rush to hit 70; I'd rather enjoy the ride along the way. Playing through the 50's was more fun when I came back to my druid fresh. 2.3 came out when I was 57 I think and that helped speed things along. But what really made the difference was getting to Outland. The mobs are suddenly tougher and I routinely got jumped by several at once, so I had to be on my toes a lot more, use a lot more of those buttons and come up with more creative ways to get out of jams without dying. Leveling was a LOT faster up until about 62 when it slowed down again. Plus the sudden appearance of worthwhile quest rewards and all that unexplored territory can be motivating as well.

So I guess my best suggestion would be to stick with it to 58 and then see how you feel in Outland. And don't be afraid to mix it up with alts here and there if you're bored. It's your $15, do what seems fun to you that day.

For end-game raiding, feral druids are actually really useful. We're the only class than can be a competitive DPS or main tank in the same instance with just switching gear. End-game Arena... not so much. The talents you can get in the balance and resto trees are better than most of the stuff in feral. We're not the only class that has a really gimped PvP tree, though. Protection for paladins, Protection or deep Fury for warriors, heavy arcane for mages, holy priests... basicly any PvE spec is gonna be less than optimal for PvP.

You think the feral druid is boring! Definitley do not roll a frost mage then! In raids, the only spell you use is FrostBolt. (and summon your elemental and tell it to cast its FrostBolt). Most classes only use a few of their spells/abilities in the average fight so that isn't really the issue.

Seriously, wait till you get to the Outlands. The game changes drastically and the quests and atmosphere improve dramatically. Also, there lots more people playing in the Outlands so it feels lees like a single player game as the old lands can at times.

Also, Druids damage increases drastically once you hit Outlands. The game is a lot more fun when you are getting lots of gear upgrades :) Nobody in my guild could match my DPS in raids until we had basically finished Karazhan and even now I am probably in the top 3-5 DPS.

Stick with it

Yeah i have decided that rare beast, thanks for all the posts guys, druids are the best class overall, haha. I was just getting tired of the 50's i think and after my holidays should get right back into clawing peoples eyes out.

For most of the classes, 48~57 is a pain in the ***. It just took so freaking long. 57~58 goes fast enough and 58~60, if you go straight to outland, you will complete on 2 hours (I know I did).
So...strugle through these levels untill 58. You wil be happy again on outland.
