Has anybody heard about the skill price being dropped in the next patch??

I know this probably isn't the location for this question.

I haven't heard anything and I don't mind it being asked.

A few people have mentioned it, but I haven't been able to confirm that info. Even if Blizzard is thinking about it, it's too early to bet on this being implemented.

Well my Guild Master said he heard it from a friend who is a GM, that it was coming in the next patch, which is on the PTR, but the price is still the same there.

Something to think about though, if they lower the price it might make the quest no longer worth doing for paladins and locks. Of course that depends on how big the change is, if it pushes it to around the same cost it will be worth doing if you have the drive. But if it's much cheaper then I don't see any reason to do it.

Granted, won't be worth doing for the people who's only motivation was getting it cheaper, but for those like myself who are more concerned with the cosmetic side it's still going to be well worth doing the quest. Charger is still my favorite mount in the game bar none.

I was talking about the skill to get the 260% flying mount.

I would suspect that if they're going to drop these costs, they'd probably also nerf the epic quests as well.

Wasn't the lvl 40 mount a quest originally, as opposed to a trainable?
#9 Dec 29 2007 at 6:12 AM Rating: Decent
Yeah, i guess it still is a quest.

Ohhh, that would be awesome if they did, but I have also heard nothing one way or the other. I'm still trying to get my FIRST epic flyer, not even thinking about one for my other 2 70s ... I just don't have the patience to farm, well, anything that would get me the money.

Yeah it was a quest, the quest was "Here's your mount!"

i.e.
-Go to the guy with the yellow exclamation point
-He says to talk to him if you want something cool
-Talk to him and he hands you the mount

that was it

No patch notes out. 2.4 has been semi confirmed to be as far away as April. 2.3.2 or whatever the next minor upgrade will be is still being finalized and not even leaked or hinted at stuff has hit the net as far as I have read.

It might happen, but if you are banking on it then you might be let down.

I think it'll stay the same but gold gains in Northrend will make the price seem small.
#15 Dec 30 2007 at 5:33 AM Rating: Decent
Well that kinda blow, LOL. Oh well, i am on the norgannon server and prices seem so low compared to the prices for items listed on this site.

I grind for about 3 hours or so a day, the little island in northwestern part of netherstorm, not bad, lots of marks of seragas, fel armarments, high level mines, and decent green drops.

Thanks for the info.

Best way to make gold will always be dailies. Skettis, the ugly Ogrila ones, cooking, heroic/non heroic, BG etc.

And once you get epic flight and can actually start the Netherwing quests it pays for the mount almost. Not counting trash sold, greens de'd, or nodes farmed I had pulled well over 2,000 gold out of their by the time I was exalted. Between Netherwing and Skettis I can make 80g in 45-55min as a Holy Paladin. Not shabby at all. Done once a day 3-4 days a week it is easy to bank gold and stay around 2000g even with raid repairs and consumables factored into the mix.

I do BRD runs to get my gold. I haven't done it in a while, but I was making about 150-200g per hour by DEing the blues I could get from bosses into shards and selling them on the AH. I got the idea from the Rogue forums.

That almost makes me wish I was an enchanter. Being Prot one can just run into an instance, aggro a mound of mobs, AOE them down, rinse and repeat being done very quickly. Not quite as profitable though when all you can do is vendor things =/

EDIT: typo.

Didn't he used to give you a book to read during step two?

Well i am an enchaner, 359 is were is sit, I can't even give the high level enchants away free (your mats) on my server. Just to increase my skill

I have ran lots of instances when i was a little lower level, but once i hit 70 i quit, wasn't evensure which icould run safely.

It was actually more of a stealth run then an AoE everything down run. I would have to temporarily spec ret to get the most gold/hour, though I could do it decently as prot in my ret set. Then again I have SoB so I don't really need SoC to pull out a ton of damage.

I basically had to kill about 5-6 bosses in 12 minutes and do that 5 times an hour.

There is absolutely no faster way to make money than mining in Nagrand. Period.

I went as far as to make my last guild a detailed map of the path they should be flying in order to maximize their hourly profit. I can easily make 400-500g an hour there once you factor in the sales of prospected gems. Nagrand is a gigantic dollar sign, dailies don't have anything on Nagrand. Besides...dailies take effort, Nagrand mining just takes a mount, max'd mining skill, and a finger to click the mouse button.
