Alliance people hate me now call me a horde sellout..Follow

Hey guys so I am in a very boring stage of WOW right now. I am farming BGs for HP to fill out vindicators set and then start filling out S1 pieces until my AP accumulate enough to buy S3s.
So I find what works best for me as Aliiance on Smolderthorn is to farm AV for honor with the occaisonla premade daily (if I can find it thrown in). That leaves me with enough honor points but obviously never enough BG marks to buy the item I want.
SO I came up with this idea (not saying I am the first I am sure it is common practice on some realms) to form EOS premades designed to lose on purpose 2000 to 0 in 4.5 minutes (if your lucky) for 1 mark. To me it's all about effiency.

If no HKs occur, the loser gets 1 mark and 20 HP versus 3 marks and 167 HP for the winners. Works great in theory and in practice.
WHat I wasn't prepared for was the number of Alliance people who hate me when I pst on chat looking for more members for my group. Don't get me wrong I filled with 15 in like 5-6 minutes and farmed 10 marks in like 1hr 10 minutes. But the things people called me were hilarious.
It's like they took it personal that I would throw a game (which on my server Alliance traditionally loses anyway) in order to get better gear overall.

Just wondered your guys' thoughts. Do any of you do this? DO you get similar reactions trying to fill the group?

Thanks
Vulk

Now step 2 would be convincing 15 smolderthorn horde to takes turns with us hehe.

It's a plan, and if all you need are the marks, it is definately the best way.

I usually will start talking people into losing when its very clear we won't win, just to speed it up. Most times I'll just stop fighting to give the opponent a 1 man advantage if no one listens.

Never gone into it just wanting to lose though.

Very creative. I had some Ideas like that when I was 59/60 farming BGs for fun. Only difference is, I was horde, so it wasnt much of a necessity for me on marks. In fact I got so many marks that im only 1 epic ground mount away from having a complete set, which is 5 (4 from hall of legends and 1 from AV). Very pathetic I realize, but there was nothing better to do IMO.

I hope this works out well for ya. Few hours a day and your good.

PS: If we are in the same battle group I'd be happy to help.

It's lame because people go into BGs to have fun PVPing, not farming honor/marks. That's just a side bonus.

Its not lame. YOU go into a BG for fun, some people only venture into WSG, AB, and EotS for the marks they need to buy the pieces of gear they want. If you arent involved in the losing team then why does it even matter to you.

It takes far less time to put together 15 ppl to dance on the starting block then it does to put together a 15 man PuG Premade that CAN win. Just because you have a premade does not mean you will win. If you look at premades that stomp you, most of the time they are very well put together...healers..dps..tanks (in the form of high res, high armor targets), and they are very organized. Its not just 15 random people, thats how you go in and spend 30 minutes inching out a victory when you could have lost in 4.

IMO if you are looking to farm marks, and you already have the honor it takes to buy your items this is extremely effective.

As long as you *do* get 15 people to do it, then fair enough. Everyone on the alliance side knows the score, and if any Horde are that upset about not getting a fair fight, well, it'll be over quickly and they can join something else, after picking up a nice HP bonus.

However, I'd be seriously narked if I joined an EotS, only to find that most of my teammates were deliberately losing because someone like you couldn't get 15 players, and decided to jump in anyway. I'm not saying you do that, but if you did, then people would have every right to call you an asshat.

I agree completely zhaharik. We only go in with 15 who are all on the same page. I was getting flamed by people in chat while trying to find the 15 like minded people. It works really well in EOS.

Interestingly enough this doesnt work so well in WSG. The horde think it is a trick and never cap the flags right away. I understand if they held flag and tried to farm HKs but they just stand there holding the flag and not turning in.

Oh well. Anyways it is a good idea if you need marks and no honor. It is not fun. It just makes the grind faster.

Good luck to anyone else who tries.

Because it's no fun for the winning team either when they have no opponents.

It sucks because Blizz has made the honor / mark grind pretty tedious, and in some battlegroups the alliance's best hope is to lose as fast as possible.

I wouldn't horde sellout, but you won't make many friends.

I went into over 30 games of AV expecting to lose, because on the bloodlust battlegroup, Alliance are really F'ing stupid in AV and no matter what match, there's bout 3 of us that have good plans, and the rest either rush galv, get slaughtered and get pushed back to Stormpike GY, or they all try to defend SHGY >.>

So many times I've told people "Just let them win so we can get our marks and get out of here, you're not making good honor"

It seems like a perfectly sensible plan so long as you're only in it for the marks. You should explain to them how it's a game, and the factional thing is really just tedious.

Most people BG for fun these days though, since Arena PvP is where all the gear's at. So I can imagine them being annoyed if nine players just went AFK thirty seconds into a match, it'd be a waste of time for them. Premades are the way to do this.

It's not the same as throwing a football match, because you normally don't get rewards for losing in football. So it's as if the entire team and its coach agreed to throw the game, in which case the only people you're letting down are the fans - except BG's have no audience, so I guess there are no fans. So I guess you aren't letting down anyone but the Hordies who like competition.

I don't get it...Aren't the only things you buy with EoS marks the weapons, the boots, and the necklace? So that is only 90 marks for both a main-hand and off-hand, boots and the necklace...I have been grinding pvp gear for many months now and have full S1 including maces and all I have left to get is the battlemaster trinket. But at almost all times while I was grinding the honor I had 100 of both av and ab marks and 50 of each EoS and WSG marks.

I mean the trouble I have is getting the honor more than getting the marks. When it is EoS weekend I just played a couple games every day and end up with 30-40 marks in a weekend easily, and that is with mainly losses. So it is definetely possible to end up with all 90 marks in a bg weekend, which I wouldn't recommend because that is a lot of grinding. Which i'm sure isnt the case, unless you have 60k honor just lying around. But I am also getting a good bit of honor with that, probably around 400-500 a game. Seriously though if you just average 13 marks a day for a week you have enough to buy every piece you need...

And tack on the daily pvp of winning EoS every now and then and the free 419 bonus honor. So basically I just don't understand why you would waste over and hour for 10 marks and 200 honor, when the marks are very easy to come by...

Basically I had the honor I needed lying around from Av. And needed 40 marks for the boots. Wanted to earn the boots by the weekend in time to wear in arena matches (we do arena sat or sun) and was 14 marks shorts late thursday night. Played "normally" in EOS for 3 25 min loses in row and said to myself I dont need these long matches where I get honor. I just needed to get 40 total marks my log in Sat morning. So 10 in an hour was the way to go in this situation. I was just suprised by the response. I mean we had 15 like minded folks. If you object dont respond to the pst. But people were spamming flames at me for like 15 minutes over it.

Or you can do what a premade does normally and win in 4.5 mins, seriously like what kind of retards do you have in your premades?

My alts are on Horde side Smolderthorn and when we farm marks its like 5 min wins in EoS.

you don't need to make a full premade, 7-10 of you going in ftl should be enough to sabotage any team :)

That's because Horde-side Smolderthorn is amazingly awesome in comparison to a lot of us in Reckoning.

I like running in mounted, stripped down naked, then jumping into the opposing force's crowd and /dance to the death.

the 2 most lame things in BG's.

premades, and people who throw matches.
it should be premades vs. premades in all honesty, but it's not so...eh.
