How do you get maximum dmg out of mutilate and which finishing moves are you closing with?

Unless your partner is a mage, lose those 7 and put them into combat for DW.

Anything besides Warrior, you pretty much want to open with CS>Mutilate>KS>CB Mutilate

Warrior, I prefer Garrote.

Also, some like to do CS>CB Mut, to ensure a 5pt KS. I prefer it after KS, to take advantage of Imp KS(if you have it) + Find Weakness.

In combat, EA is going to be your bread and butter for PVP. EA > SnD especially with 7 in Sub.

So what poisons do you prefer to keep up to get the bonus for mut?

PvE I run with Wound on the MH and Crippling on the OH to keep myself open to a Gouge > Mutilate if need be.

PvP I would still use crippling on the OH, but Mind Numbing on a caster or Deadly on a warrior, and use envenom on the warrior instead of Eviscerate, or you can Garrote, Mutilate, Rupture and kite and let your DoTs take the tin can down.

PVE-Grinding- Crip
PVP- Crip/OH Wound/MH (swap OH with Mind numbing to quickly Shiv then back to crip)
PVE-raid- Deadly/MH instant/OH

I would like to add to that slightly:

CS>Mutilate>wait a tick or two til 60 energy>KS>Mutilate>Mutilate

The short time they are hitting you is nothing compared to the extra damage you gain.

And I could be wrong here, but aren't most raid bosses poison immune? Or are you talking about trash mobs?

Majority are not. There are a few that typically are in each raid instance though.

Blizz went out of their way to make poisons applicable to most things in instances and raids. But not all mind you [but only due to their nature]

Though the fact you can poison murmur...leaves me wondering.

but ya, your sacrificing a lot of damage for better stealth and better ranged sap.

You dont need those if you're skilled enough.

Either get duel wield special or oppurtunity. Both are highly receptive to the needs of a muty rogue.

The wait a sec and double mut is good stuff, thanks for the poison info. At this point, I am still using cold blood with a full Eviserate, doing around 2k when I can.

CB Mutilate > CB Eviscerate. Not only does it do more damage, but you don't waste your points on a bad Finisher. To really compare, it would have to be CB Mutilate + 5 Point EA > CB Eviscerate, because that's what you'd end up doing.
