Off hand, Mainhand enchantingFollow

#1 Dec 24 2007 at 12:29 PM Rating: Default
Hi, I'm a fury warrior with 2 merciless Gladiator axes.
I currently have Mongoose on mainhand and potency on the offhand.
I was thinking of getting Executioner on one of them.
Everyone tells me to get Executioner on mainhand and mongoose on offhand.
But I already have mongoose on main hand...
Would it be a big difference to have mongoose on mainhand and executioner on offhand instead of executuioner on mainhand and mongoose on offhand?

warrior DPS spreadsheet will tell you for sure. the consensus is yes, it will make a difference, especially when executioner's armor piercing effect is stacked with armor piercing from badge/s3 gear. assuming your offhand is 91 dps or greater, you should be putting mongoose on that anyway.

having mongoose on both mh and oh will only refresh mongoose procs, as mongoose doesn't stack.

Unless that has been changed in the recent patch, they do. At least they do with my double mongoose.

Mongoose stacks. I assume he meant Executioner, which does not (and is the best one for Warriors by far).

Mongoose vs. Potency on the offhand is a minor difference, so just reenchant the MH and leave the OH alone to save money.

Let me rephrase the question to make it clearer
How much dps difference would be between:

Mongoose on MH, Executioner on OH

and

Executioner on MH, and Mongoose on OH

Money isn't an issue so...

Another thing to take into account, that many people forget or neglect, is Crusader. I've heard conflicting reports on this one... Someone told me proc rate's been reduced, but I though the Crusader nerf was always the decrease from the healing and the +str (+100 str at level 60 became +60 str at level 70). Assuming the proc rate is the same, which is what I believe, Crusader is still better than mongoose for some players.

+60 str absolutly flattens +120 for warriors, since we only ever get crit from +agi. However, it's the little haste buff that makes it all interesting...

You had some insightful information last time RP, am I out of line again? I don't know how big a buff the haste is to your DPS, but the +str sure beats the +agi.

So I should just slap executioner on my OH and get it over with?

The problem is that +20 STR is better than a +60 STR proc, given Crusader only has ~1.2 PPM Potency is just flat-out more STR. Crusader would probably beat Potency if you put it on the Mainhand but Executioner is far better there.

As for Crusader vs. Mongoose... eh. It's ~30 Haste Rating and the equivalent of 88 Crit Rating, so I'd go with Mongoose. The Crit vs. STR is debatable, but the bonus Haste does seal the deal in favor of Mongoose I think.

So keep the Mongoose on my main hand and re-enchant offhand from savagery to executioner?

executioner pretty much has to be on your mh.
