Kara Off-Tank Hybrid?Follow

#1 Dec 24 2007 at 12:59 AM Rating: Decent
Ooookay, quick warrior question. So if I off tank Kara for my guild, would it be best to do a hybrid build? I don't have too much experience in Kara, but a prot off tank warrior seems pretty useless in a boss fight. Would a build such as this suffice for off tanking/dpsin with a 2h when needed -

Like I said, only run Kara once, so not much experience and I haven't tanked or off tanked yet, so I was just wondering.

OK, so you like using a 2-handed weapon for DPSing

Your talent spec is mostly geared towards PVP / tanking

Talent-wise.... you got some wierd choices there

1. = Iron will, big no no, unless you are a PVP character
2. = Two-hand specialization, highly needed when DPSing using a 2-handed weapon
3. = Improved Disciplines, Ok choice, but those points can be allocated towards other points.

Here's a better choice

for 2-handed weapon choice PVE

for dual-wielding choice PVE

OP - you're right about a prot OT warrior being useless in a boss fight. you should really do an OT spec. your prot tree is filled out nicely, but your arms tree needs a little work. something more like this. imo, as the OT, you don't need to dish out an incredible amount of threat... you need to have enough survivability, which will be determined largely by your gear set, and you will have plenty of time to establish a threat lead on your target while everyone else beats on the main target.

WHRyder - you linked the same build in both links. imo for a DW fury build, you need something more like this. you'll miss a few % of block and not have as many points in defiance, but like i said before, you don't need to be able to put out huge amounts of threat when OTing, and your gear will be the determining factor in your survivability. depending on your DPS gear and how often you will be able to use SS+WW (or even just WW alone, if your MT does not allow enough space away from CC'd targets for you to use WW), this build can allow you to DPS somewhat comparably with other DPS classes. as a mostly ~T4/few pieces T3.5 geared DPS warrior using this spec, i outdps'd a BM hunter in full pvp epics, and outdps'd a similarly equipped combat rogue (though my WW and SS+WW hitting multiple targets was what made the difference).
