As the title states, I'm hoping to get some input here. My guild is currently starting a Team 2 Kara (first team has got it mostly down, though we seem to have trouble on Netherspite because of a lack of coordination and occasionally prince). Someone suggested that we do ZA today, and while we couldn't get a group going... the idea is interesting.

I suppose what I'm wondering is, will I meet the minimums to carry my own weight in ZA? I usually keep up fairly well on the damage-meters, and even though I hate to go by those... they are useful in some cases. We've discussed what is necessary to get your foot in the door raid-wise, and I've done some of the other stuff (think: VR and Gruul). I've heard ZA is tougher than Gruul, and I guess I'm just trying to figure out what the minimum for each spec of hunter would be on this side of things.

One thing to note is that my legs (currently a L66 blue) will be replaced by Vengeful Gladiator's with a nether-cobra kit as of Wednesday... so that'll be gone =)

The one thing that jumps out at me is that I could drop a few pts in SV and pick up Hawk, but I am currently doing a lot of heroics, etc and I don't want to give up those points.

Anyway, thanks in advance for the input; I guess I just want to make sure I'm on the right track and would like the input of some of our more experienced raiders.

If you've got 4+ pieces of Kara gear, and don't have any hold out blue pieces (with the few notable exceptions such as the Stalker's Helm) you'll do fine in ZA.

Edit: I see you've got 7 Kara items. And you've been remarkably lucky in picking up Kara drops, given your VE reputation level. If your Guild is equipped similarly you'll be clearing ZA Bosses after the usual learning curve for the strategy, you've got no gearing issues.

if you can get yourself 16 more hit (2 gems) to get to hit cap, you'll be pretty good.
And maybe replace the 2 gems in your necklace with +8 agi ones but beyond that there's not much you need to do and you're pretty well geared for stuff past karazhan.

So good luck in Gruul/ZA ;)

You might pull off about three bosses with your current gear, if the rest of the ten man group is the same gear level. You have to remember that Zul'Aman is helluvalot harder than Gruul, and some of the TK/SSC bosses. Your DPS needs to be very high, because the bosses hit hard and will exhaust the healer's mana quite fast compared to what you are used to.

Not to mention some of the add fights.

So the correct order is KZ > GRL > Mag/VR/ZA > SSC/TK

Awesome, thanks guys! I'll be picking up 12 hit with the legs, so I'm just searching for another +4. I've been contemplating re-gemming the Neclace of the Deep, butI just can't seem to justify 100+G on a blue item, though it looks like I'll be sticking with it for a while.

Most of the others who are wanting to run ZA are as geared (if not a little more geared) than me... so I suppose we'll see what happens. I was kind of wondering where ZA fell in, and now I know; I thought Gruul was pretty cake once we got everyone coordinated, so I'm glad to hear this will be a bit more of a challenge. =) I'll let you guys know how it goes!
