'Magic numbers' for Destro?Follow

Currently a level 63 Demo-specced Warlock (with a side-order of Destro), and I plan to respec to Destruction some time in the future.

I'm just wondering when I should do it; what the 'magic numbers', so to speak, for level as well as spell hit, crit, and damage will be to make destro, well, work.

Should I hold off until 70, PvP as SL/SL to get Destro gear, and do it then? Or would I be fine changing to Destro earlier?

Any advice would be great.

tbh for both pvp and pve you'd be better off going afliction as dest (especially the primary dest build, 0/21/40) has very high stat 'requirements' for it to work well in pve (and tbh, it just doesn't work well in pvp... depends to much on critting which is now impossible in pvp)

the minimum requirements are, imo:

hp and mana of over 8k before buffs
minimum 170 +hit
minimum 20% crit including devestation (so 15% crit in your character screen)
1000 +dmg including felarmour

now remember, spec what you enjoy. but if you want to spec what's best for your gear level. go something along the lines of 41/0/20 type specs until you can get to the above stats, after which you could find dest being a better dps spec for pve. for pvp... well there aren't really any 'specific' specs.. a 7/19/35 or 5/15/41 and other similar variations could be viable in pvp. but you generally won't crit. you generally won't get to cast many spells and will be relying on backlash procs and you will almost definately need a very good healer with you.

I'm gunna be re-speccing to desto soon to check it out as my stats hit the marks posted above but I was wondering what amount of crit/dmg is needed before immolate or corruption stops increasing your dps on tank and spank fights(No running around). I know Jen and Oaken had a nice little battle about this but I can't find the thread.

that was jen vs priestofsoul.
i think the thread ended with something like
Corruption and Immolate do increase your DPS, but not
as much as one would think.
If i remember correctly jen said something about 1600+shadowdmg,
but that sound awefully much.

I remember that thread too, but it was more about comparing SB spam/CoD vs SB spam and DoTs. Here's the link.

the "to dot or not to dot" is an ongoing arguement that just gets more and more complex. biggest factor though is purely which boss you're doing. though if you want some 'general' guide lines on when to stop using X/Y then:

as dest spec with the 'minimum' stats i listed above.. use both immolate and corruption.
if you gain more and more crit but other stats stay the same.. by the time you get to 30+% crit, you can forget about corruption and just stick to imm+SB+your designated curse.
if you don't gain more crit, but gain more damage to say, 1300-1400 mark. then immolate looses its worth and corruption is more beneficial.
if you manage to get up to roughly, min 25% crit, 1500-1600 +dmg mark then again it's more of a SB+imm only point.. BUT it can also be argued that SB only is worthwhile too. depends on the boss/length of fight etc...

now here's where things get a bit strange... if you start stacking up on spell haste and manage to hit the 10+% mark (158+ spell haste rating) then immolate becomes pointless and corruption becomes worthwhile in almost all situations, sadly though. to gain that much haste you have to generally loose a fair amount of crit... BUT if somehow you manage to keep above the ~30% crit point (i haven't done the maths on this part yet, but it's probably fairly accurate) with 10+% haste, then you may benefit from pure SB nuking
