Sorry if it's been asked b/4 but I have looked for the answer and can't find. For some reason my pet is stuck on prowl. The icon is not up on the toolbar in game and I have been told to dismiss the pet and call it back.
That when done the pet comes back but right back in stealth/prowl mode. I've been told to right click off of growl and that might work. That has been done as well.
Hopefully it's something "right in front of my face" that I'm missing. However, tis annoying for it's a slight setback in 5 mans.

So, if I'm understanding this, the pet is stuck in prowl, but you haven't trained the cat to know it, or it came with the ability and you can't make it stop?
Other than what you've tried I'd say maybe go to the pet trainer and unlearn all of it's abilities.

No, it was a trained ability. Somewhere along the way in an instance or something it got stuck. I'm lvl 70 and have had prowl for a while and never had the problem.
And yes, your response of going back to the trainer to relearn was a last resort.

Go to your spell book, (P), and there should be a tab at the bottom for your pet's skills. Check if Prowl is in there.
If Prowl is in the pet's spellbook and surrounded by the glowy border then right click it there to turn it off. Spells/abilities for pets, I have found, can be set to auto from the spellbook without needing to be in the pet bar on screen.

most likely at one point when you turned it on or off you dragged the button from your petbar and dumped it.
My pet's prowl button poofed as well - he'd been prowling and I put him into the pet shop to pull out another pet and when I brought him back, his prowl button was missing and he's stuck in it too.
This is seeming like a new bug since there's more then one person reporting it now.

Just drag it from the spell book again...
Correct - open your spellbook, hit the pet tab and then drag and drop the button back to its rightful place.

if u talk to a GM about this problem they will most likely tell u to reset your interface and thats all but i have tried that and it does NOT work

And i bet that for most people its just that they accidentaly removed the button.
Its not a bug until it happens more often. (like, the button is gone every time you log in)
