Which Totems / Weapon enchants for leveling?Follow

Hello everyone,

First of all, NOOB QUESTIONS INC!

A Friend of me asked me if I could play (level) his shaman a few levels, because he won't be able to play for the next 3 Weeks. I Agreed, but i honestly have no idea how to play a shaman.

At the moment, the shammy is enhancement-specced. I'm very unsure about what Totems i should drop and which enchants i should put on my weapons, so I'd welcome any help about this. At the moment, i drop a windfury, mana and Stoneskin Totem before each fight, and put Windfury on my offhand Weapon. But i feel that this is totally wrong, so as I said, I'd appreciate if someone could describe which enchants and Totems they use when they're leveling :)

Thanks :)

no your doing very well, just make sure his weapons are 2.4 or slower and both have WF/WF

dropping windfury totem when you have the enchant on your weapon is redundant- windfury totem is for group members. use windfury enchant, then drop grace of air, strength totem, and searing totem, and you'll be fine

Not to mention that the weapon enchant is more powerful than the totem because it adds two extra attacks rather than just one. I usually go with just Stoneskin and mana as well, but Shamanastic Rage would likley make Healing Stream the better water totem to drop. So, Mana Stream and Stoneskin pre level 50, Healing Stream and Stoneskin level 50 and on.

well, currently his weapons are daggers and have 1.5 and 1.8 speed -.- (he's lvl 44 right now).
Do you think i should get some new weps? Maces maybe? (The daggers are actually very nice, and have more DPS than the best mace i could buy for his lvl..Black Menace | Gut ripper)

Well seing as those daggers a fast they will bypass his WF ports, so generally id say to buy him some good maces/axes, be sure to keep those in his bank in case he wants them back for some reason >_>.

I know this is the standing wisdom, but personally I like a slow main hand with windfury and a fast offhand with flametongue (so as not to steal windfury from my main hand). I realize this may not be as much raw DPS, but since I try to be as mana conservative as possible, I like the fast offhand for more common crits (and therefore more procs of shamanistic focus). I pretty much never shock unless someone is casting or shamanistic focus procs, so having the faster offhand I can shock more often (in my experience). Granted, my crit % is slightly less than 20%, so perhaps with a higher crit chance, I'd not have a problem with 2 slow weapons.

Anyway, I guess it really depends on your playstyle which is better for you. From the sounds of the gear your friend has, I'd probably use one of the daggers in your offhand (whichever is better/is possible to wield offhand) and get a slow main.

That being said, I usually don't have any need to drop totems other than the taunting one, whose name escapes me at the moment (though I'll occasionally drop mana totem). Granted, I'm only level 62, so things may change as I get higher level.
